Matt Clement

released by the Cardinals today. Also, Waino felt great after an 80 pitch bullpen session today.

by iwannarock24 on Aug 2, 2008 6:07 PM EDT reply actions

I wonder

why they released him. Hadn’t they already moved him off the 40 man roster?

by Hardcore Legend on Aug 2, 2008 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe

Wanted to promote someone from Springfield and he was taking up a spot? Salas?

by FlimtotheFlam on Aug 2, 2008 6:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe

they plan on keeping Jaime up for the rest of the season and they are bringing Todd up to finish the season as a starter at AAA. Salas being promoted makes sense as well, though.

How long before the first complaint about Miles starting at SS?

Dammit!

Why is Miles starting at shortstop?

by Red in Chicago on Aug 2, 2008 6:22 PM EDT up reply actions

no

Izturis is better than Kennedy.

strikeouts from left-center

Wasn't Iz2 hitting pretty well lately?

play him while he’s hot. It doesn’t happen that often.

.237/.275/.263/.538

is his line in the past 10 games (well, ten that he had an at bat).

Hot it is not.

exactly

I am to the point to where i don't care anymore this season

about Miles starting at SS. You are either gonna have Izturis in there dragging you down with his bat, or ryan doing the same, or Miles with his defensive deficiencies. I am just gonna have to settle for the fact we are not going to have a decent MIF combination this season.

I can still complain about craptacular combos we can put in there, right?

it'll probably be a shootout

hopefully Loop’s brought a few “get out of jam free” cards with him…..Philly will get their licks in on him, but if he can just prevent crooked numbers we’ll have a chance…..

looper’s game numbers when LaRue is behind the plate? Now it clearly has a small sample size warning (approx 120 PA vs 423), but there is a 200 point drop in OPS

I don't think Albert is really going to get the MVP this year, anyway.

He may end up leading the league in BA, but he is third on his own team in both HRs and RBIs. He is not even in the top 15 of the NL in either category. I know that there are many other stats to view, but the voters are still looking at those.

If you swing, and the ball hits you, it’s a strike. Mather went around, no question.

He never broke his wrists, nor did the bat cross the plate.

by etp_stl on Aug 2, 2008 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions
