Cardinal Dreams

Although this may be a bit "out of left field", I figured we were all Cardinal-crazy enough to have had at least one or two dreams about the Cardinals, or maybe a player in particular. If this is too far off topic, feel free to delete it, but I was hoping it might be light enough (and hopefully funny enough) to keep around. The reason I bring it up is because I had this weird dream where...

Star-divide

... I was playing center field (Ank must've still been injured), and I kept having the ball hit to me. I could catch it fine, but when I'd try to throw it back to Welly (who was pitching in this particular dream) I could barely muster enough force to get it to edge of the infield dirt. Then, out of the blue, Jimmy Edmonds appeared in the on deck circle, and as he knelt down to tie his shoe or something, I launched a ball his way that ended up plunking him right in the ribs... without taking a bounce. I immediately felt bad about hitting him, but he stood up, brushed off the hit, and jogged out to talk to me in center. I was certain we were going to fight, but he was very jovial and laughed it off.

I guess this is my subconcious trying to deal with JED's move to the Cubbies. It's still a love/hate relationship, I guess. Anyway, that's my most recent dream involving the Cardinals. I've had plenty of others, but I thought I'd open the floor to anyone else who had a good one to share.

I'll bite.

Back when Steve Kline was a Cardinal, I ran into him and Jason Simontacchi at a bar. I talked to them for a few minutes, and then said I had to get back to my friends because we were celebrating his birthday. A few minutes later, Kline shows up at our table with a tray full of tequila shots. There must have been twenty or thirty of them. He wished my buddy a happy birthday, and invited us to meet up with him at the next bar. Later, when we walked into the next place, there was Kline, behind the bar, pouring vodka down peoples throats, and of course I had to get in on the action. It was a blast.

Later, I woke up in the middle of the night from a crazy dream where Steve Kline and I had been arrested, and were about to get our asses kicked in jail!

I had a dream ...

shortly after the Scott Rolen trade to st louis…I was about 20-21 or so at the time. A friend and I were getting into a fight with a large group of bigger guys in an alley somewhere in the city. We started to get roughed up a bit until out of nowhere, Rolen showed up and kicked everyone’s ass. It was awesome. Very superhero-like.

I also remember a dream where I was Tom Brunansky….I was maybe 8 at the time. I hit a ball into the gap and wound up with a stand up triple. What I didn’t realize was the outfielder had kicked the ball and I was being waved into to score, but due to my hesitation I was gunned out at the plate…….weak.

I had a dream

Several years ago, I had a dream that I saw Juan Encarnacion on the DC Metro (I’m from DC). Outside of that, I don’t remember much of it, but I remember it being very vivid at the time.
