Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

The Nationals failed to sign first-round draft pick Aaron Crow before Friday's midnight deadline.
The two sides were reportedly between $700,000 and $900,000 apart. If Crow's changeup develops, he could be a solid No. 2 in the majors, but for now he'll play with the independent league Fort Worth Cats. The Nationals will get a compensatory pick for their failure to sign Crow.
