they're calling carp's injury a triceps strain. his health status far more consequential than the (all but certain) outcome of the game. . . . . at least it ain't the elbow.

Joe's absolutely terrible when it comes to numbers
I think that’s a given. But he’s pretty insightful when it comes to the mechanics of the game and whatnot. At least I think so.
Triceps Strain
Mild strain-2 to 10 days.
Moderate strain-10 days to 6 weeks.
Severe strain—6 to 10 weeks. If this is a repeat injury, complications listed above are more likely to occur.
I have discovered in twenty years of moving around a ball park, that the knowledge of the game is usually in inverse proportion to the price of the seats. ~Bill Veeck
so
best case: he misses one start
worst case: done for the year, reoccuring injury.

boo cubs, hooray beer
no need to preorder
you should be able to pick it up at wal mart at midnight. pre orders are kind of pointless. i have yet to see a game actually sell out.
True
I’ve seen a few games sell out at my local eb games (where i go to get games). GTA IV did, and Halo 3 did.
boo cubs, hooray beer
really?
i normally don’t go to eb games. i just stop at walmart and grab games at 12am tuesday. i’m actually going to eb games this year though (have 50 bucks store credit) so it should be interesting seeing as how i don’t have a preorder. thankfully there are 3 ebgames in like a 5 mile radius so i should be perfectly fine.
so...
is farve going to be in a packers jersey on the cover? there’s no way they could’ve changed the cover that fast…
yeah
he will remain in a packers jersey for the cover and you’ll be able to download a roster update that has him on the jets the day the game comes out.
you can actually
also download a new cover to print with him in a Jets jersey if it suits you.
On with the (good) youth movement!
oh yeah i did see that
doesn’t matter either way to me as i care more about what is in the box than what’s on the cover (until they start putting bears on the cover seeing as how i believe in the curse).
So what does that mean for the curse?
Does it require a player to still be in the same uniform?

the curse has already effected him

Dempster: um…y…wha..
gammons: Okay, so who would you rather face, Jason bay or David Ortiz
Dempster: errrr
gammons: So how do you compare yourself to pitchers such as…oh I don’t know…Dice-k, Josh Becket and Tim Wakefield?
at this point dempster interviews himself with his Harry Carey impersonation

did you hang out with my brother then? sorry I didn’t go along; I really didn’t have the $ to go to the bar. although a friend of mine ended up buying me Mexican food and margaritas (which my stomach paid for with fire)

Yeah I hung out with your bro and scott. Stanleys was fun, not too busy, and had room to move around. You just need to get a stronger stomach man. I had a f load of mexican food and peanuts that I dropped a deuce at the bar,

haha probably.
El Cid was a good mexican restaurant man, appreciate all the help with navigating Chicago. I want to come back up there, lots more fun things to do than down here in the Stl.

I really get this feeling
that Marmol doesn’t think at all when he pitches. He just whips and they happen to be strikes.
On with the (good) youth movement!
I actually kind of like watching them pitch
vs Duncans toss it up there and let them whack it approach. Its nice to see a picher try to blow a hitter away at times
Joe Morgan
just said that the cubs are the “best all around team in the big league”
C'mon you Redbirds, lets prove em' wrong, again!
I agree with him
there run diff is just huge…
I know it hurts, but this is a good cubs team.
We gave em hell this weekend, think we outscored them… we’ll get em next time!

ive said it once and il say it again
since when do the Cubbies have good D?

Dont take me seriously :-D
since we figured out how to
to hit the ball just within their reach. this is one of those games where you can say it a game of inches and we were just short a few too many too many times. shitty i had to listen to morgan and miller turn their whole team into hall of famers
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you haven't grasped the situation!
when did they start doing that?
who do they think they are the Yankees?
stupid little bears

so I'm assuming you just lost an eye.
I mean, that sucks man, but good luck with whatever you choose to do next.

I was at the game on friday and when they started busting that song out I was like wtf? Everyone knew the songs even the little kids were chanting it. It was like a cult

stupidest song I've ever heard
and some horrible musician is probably getting a lot of recognition for that garbage.

you're not thinking outside the box!
see, if you change “cubs” to “cardinals”....no..no it’s still horrible.
"How depressing is it being you? Would you equate it to being a lifelong Cubs fan?"
Once on YouTube
They had that song set to a montage of terrible Cubs plays….it was hilarious…

ooo nice. love the office.
watched the first 3 seasons this weekend minus the last like 4 or 5 episodes (they didn’t have the last disk at the movie store). really made me sad because now i don’t know if jim is going to stick with karen or go with pam now that she is finally fully available.
Yeah, I have spent too much time there.
It only has like 25 or so Office Episodes, but that is enough to waste 20 min. or so.
I am pretty glad we won one game
best wishes, carp

Either way
this should tell them that it is not a BAD thing to have 6 viable starters in case one gets hurt. Just let Pineiro be the long/fill in man.
see, this is why i hate baseball sometimes
Carp pitched like Cy Young & got the loss.
AND to twist the knife in our backs, he got hurt
Dumpster pitched poorly & was one lucky SOB all night long & got the W.
baseball, she is a cruel mistress.

the GOB's are bastards.
bastard coated bastards with bastard filling.
yeah i said it. why should we have to pay so dearly for one blessed October? we are the best franchise the NL has ever seen. the GOB’s should be kissing our ass, not kicking it.

Scrubs is the best show ever
ESPN Management (CT): Umm…...what does this have to do with the Red Sox and Yankees?

did you catch the Scrubs marathon they had on Comedy Central today? they showed a lot of their best episodes it was awesome.
