I dunno...

Gallagher is only 22 and he’s dominating AAA after having done quite well at AA.

Anyone know what he throws? Is he another Reyes/Hirsh type?

by guayzimi on Jul 8, 2008 7:55 PM EDT   0 recs

I dunno

but I don’t think he’s been that great in the ML

Big Z

on 1380 was pretty high on him.

More HR for those three than for

any of the Mariners, Royals, Nationals, A’s, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Twins or Giants.

Different topic. Why is Rasmus not playing?

You have good topics tonight/morning ... whatever.

I think you should bring back up the trade Anderson tread.

I think that should be on the table at this point.

I'd rather see Ludwick lead off

than Kennedy

strikeouts from left-center

by Cards Fan in Chitown on Jul 8, 2008 7:57 PM EDT   0 recs

no

Ludwick lead off one game this year and struck out like 4 times

boo cubs, hooray beer

by Raconteur on Jul 8, 2008 7:57 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Kennedy is hitting over .500 for the week

He’s got a hot bat, so TLR led him off. That said, Ludwick is hitting over .400 for the week.

by bgh on Jul 8, 2008 7:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

have they been putting

Kennedy’s bat in the oven again? Those silly Cardinals.

by Evilfrog on Jul 8, 2008 7:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

no

it’s hot from the ‘hot seat’ that Kennedy’s on

by Phizzle on Jul 8, 2008 7:59 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Pujols is going...

to have to hit one out for us to win.

He’s the only one who can touch Hamels.

by guayzimi on Jul 8, 2008 7:57 PM EDT   0 recs

I thought Albert was a linedrive hitter

who happened to hit HRs. He seems to have added an uppercut to his swing.

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 8, 2008 7:58 PM EDT   0 recs

yeah

he wants a home run tonight

This has the makings of a tough inning. Over/under on a 1-2-3 inning?

Utley
Howard
Burrell

Getting out of this inning only down 2 would be an achievement.

A new variety of MV3

Why is it that each of our MV3 didn’t win an MVP yet the Phillies’ players do? Oh yeah, sports writers are idiots.

It usually doesn't take this long with Jo-El

Why did we give him a multi-year contract again?

by bgh on Jul 8, 2008 8:06 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Because we had no idea

what we would have in 2009. Remember, Wellemeyer was a huge question mark, Looper is a FA, we didn’t get Lohse until late, we never know if Mulder or Carp will ever be what they were.

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 8, 2008 8:10 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That's right

He was a relatively healthy, warm body that Dunc had worked his magic on.

by bgh on Jul 8, 2008 8:10 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

So you hand...

a 2yr/$13 million deal to a replacement level guy?

by guayzimi on Jul 8, 2008 8:11 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He was above replacement level

when he came over here last season. If you take out his first start vs the Nationals, he was really good.

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 8, 2008 8:12 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That was 63 innings of...

fairly decent pitching after years of wretchedness. A guy like Boggs can replicate what Pineiro gives you.

by guayzimi on Jul 8, 2008 8:20 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Really?

You thought Boggs could replicate back in October?

by Hardcore Legend on Jul 8, 2008 8:21 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

go look at some of those home/away splits for the Phils

Utley isthe major exception

I'm looking at them...

I don’t see much difference in performance this year.

by guayzimi on Jul 8, 2008 8:09 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i looked at them too

I was wrong. looks like only Utley has a really been better at home. I could have swore when the Phillies were in Stl earlier they were different.
