Game 87 overflow
have the cards ever rallied from 0-9? there was that big comeback in cincinnati some years back on mother's day, but i think they only trailed 0-8 . . . . .

Just finished a nice night for Memphis. Seven innings of 1-run ball.
And Brett Wallace got his first professional base hit.
A few things to be happy about while waiting for the monster comeback.

I was at this game against the reds
but they only scored 7 in the 9th after being down 9-3- that was the end of Danny Graves.

I think there was another one where they were down 8-0 early,
and pecked away at the lead over a number of innings instead of all at the end. I don’t remember when it was, but I’m pretty sure Drew was still on the team because I remember him hitting a HR.

Wow
Eli Marrero sighting.
and Edmonds was 0-5 with 4 SO’s – he gave up it seems.

There was another one.....
At home against Cincy, maybe in 2005 or so. I don’t think it was that big of a comeback, but the Cards scored 3-4 in the bottom of the 9th to win it. Busch was going NUTS that night.

We won the day after that Phillies defeat.
That thought is keeping me going tonight.

And the day after, too
That’d make for a nice weekend.

Gotta give Boggs some credit
Wouldn’t have expected six innings from him after that third.
Three innings from the bullpen isn’t too much to ask. This’d be a good time to give Mulder a look on pitching in consecutive days.

Back on after losing VEB. Good story. Chuck Dressen old Dodgers manager told his team in similar circumstances
“hold em right here, I’ll think of something.”

If Shannon or Rooney retire in a few years
I really hope Mike Claibourne is not in line for the job to call Cardinals games. I’m sure Claibourne is a good guy…but he is extremely booring at calling games…

perfect post. His commentary is dreadful and dull. Adds nothing but a dose of sominex

I dunno...
Yes, he’s boring. But at the same time, he’s not annoying. That immediately puts him above any of the TV announcers.
On a slight tangent, am I the only one that really hates the promos on the radio? The dual announcers who speak in stereo. The constant references to a “ball yard” instead of a “ballpark”. The horrible mumbling folk music they use (“Mmm mmm I love baseball, mmm mmm mmm, I love baseball, mmm mmm”). I’m getting so I just watch the game on mute, without the radio.

kennedy...
could he be getting hot? seems like he’s had a good series
As seen on Bleed Cubbie Blue message board... "Wait until the Cardinals call up Rasmus..."

Well Mitch
you sucked. But atleast you gave us six innings and saved our bullpen. We lost by 10, the Cubs lost by 5, but our bullpen is in much better shape than theirs going into tomorrow.

i was a big boggs fan… he becomes an ace almost every time in baseball mogul.
(still am a fan, even irl, but he’s got some work to do).
Happy 4th, all y’all on the east side.

If you like laphroaig, try Talisker.

Apparently the Brewers have offered LaPorta to the
Indians for C.C. Sabathia.
The Indians would be fools not to take that deal.
This is good news for Cardinals fans. Even if we fail to finish ahead of the Brewers, this will cause them to lose both Sabathia and Sheets to FA (both intend to test the market) and LaPorta will be in the AL, which means one less great young bat for the Brewers once Fielder leaves via FA.
Of course, this is also bad news because since about mid-April, Sabathia has been nails.

That would be foolish
unless that know for sure they can sign CC to a long contract (which more than likely won’t happen).
Plus I think the Brewers need more than Sabathia to get into the playoffs…that is unless…our pitching continues to falter..then they will probably coast to the wild card.

Speaking of being foolish
I wonder who Hank…er I mean the Yankees will try and get before the deadline as a last ditch effort to make the playoffs and in turn trade off one of their better young players. Some how I can see them trying to get Dunn or Griffey.
The team that needs to make some moves is the Dodgers…I will be shocked if they don’t make a few moves since the NL West is so bad and they are maybe 1 or 2 “impact players” from probably taking that division from the Snakes.
