Yeah

I think that’s just Mo talking. But if he thinks he can blow off the Fuentes/Sherrill/Rhodes/Ohman shopping and stick Wainwright in there, he’s more naive than I thought.

Who was the last Cardinals RF to hit 30+ HRs in a single season?

that answer is so wrong

Albert played 39 games in RF in ‘01 and 1 in ‘02

I am pretty sure he hit over 30 both years

* sarcasm might be involved in this comment

by mattyfrommo on Jul 28, 2008 8:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Here's what I found after a quick look...

Player – Total (Games in RF) – Year
Pujols – 37 (39) – 2001
Pujols – 34 (1) – 2002
Clark – 35 (1) – 1987
Musial – a bunch of times

And, no, Brian Jordan never hit 30+ in a season for any team (career high = 25 in ‘98 and ‘01).

There could be a couple more, but either way, giving Clark as the answer is lame.

that's what I'm planning on doing

but we’ll see how much they’re asking… I’m not paying more than $30 (unless they’re kickass seats). a few years back I saw a cards cubs game when I went in during the 2nd inning and the scalper just wanted to get rid of them, $20 I think (maybe it was cheaper, can’t remember). so this year should be harder. I’ll do standing room only though

Freese is 2 years older

25 as opposed to 23 for Craig. Does Freese have the better glove?

I might think Freese is the expendable one. Call up… bad ass September…trade for a SS?

* sarcasm might be involved in this comment

by mattyfrommo on Jul 28, 2008 9:17 PM EDT up reply actions

That works.

Craig has enough pop that he should be the last 3B traded, at least until it’s clear whether Walrus can stick there. (Remember, Walrus can’t be traded yet.)

by StanTheManFan on Jul 28, 2008 9:18 PM EDT up reply actions

i believe freese has better defensive stats (and viewed as better by scouts)

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you haven't grasped the situation!

by sportsman on Jul 28, 2008 9:19 PM EDT up reply actions

Freese is a local kid

and they played that card a ton after they traded for him. Thus I think he’ll get more of a chance over Craig.

Freese won a gold glove in whatever A Ball league he played in for SD, but he’s not a wizard with the glove or anything. Craig is an absolute butcher from what I understand though.

Either way, neither have much a future at the hot corner if Brett Wallace pans out, he has more talent than both of those guys.
