I’d once again like to thank TLR and staff for giving Boggs this start, despite the fact that these same Mets destroyed him his last time out. Bravo.

might as well go ahead and make it 8. The offense just has to explode sometime, might as well be in the next inning

If Ludwick really is this good, he’s largely wasted here, because he won’t even be a starter. He’ll likely still platoon with Skippy and Duncan next year, even if he hits.

I dont buy it either
we have had a sweep recently and havent fared too bad against the opponents, save MIL, recently. We just seem to be on the schnide lately. Also, when your BP has to go 3.5 innings/night, this kinda thing will happen where your pitching staff seems tired all the time. Other than getting another arm or hitting MIF to replace one or two we have, I dont know what to do.

As others have said, this is what happens...
when you have a team full of overachievers who give 110% every night. When they crash, they crash hard. Morale drops, they no longer believe in themselves and their ability to win every night and things go down hill from there. It also doesn’t help that a ton of their losses are of the heartbreaking fashion thanks to the god awful bullpen.

I think you should give him 2 more rehab starts
this season is pretty much over, don’t rush him back and risk hurting our chances for 09

Bring him back
there is no difference right now pitching at the big league level or the minor league level for his development. His secondary pitches are all there.

and keep him on a pitch count
for the next two starts if you’re worried about him

Think I agree
it’d be a pisser to listen to him rolling at Memphis next week while the big league club trots out some underripe piece of meat to get pummelled.

C'mon Yadi
think like its 2006, youre in the NLCS, and your team is down. Lose this one in the seats/bullpen.
C'mon you Redbirds, lets prove em' wrong, again!

nevermind.
We’ll get em next time.

Wow,Im sure its wrong but,
Albert looks like he has maybe cashed it in for the season. He doesnt even look like its bothering him. Plus how he walked to the plate on that AB, it was like he was thinking to himself , OK…whatever…who cares.

I said it before
he looks like a man whose dog just died. He’s going through the motions, but you can tell he is beaten.

He's exhibited nothing that
shows that. It’s a built in excuse we give him, and maybe it is but we shouldn’t just default to “he must be hurt” everytime he does poorly.

Partially, but I think alot of it's mental also
Alberts a gamer. Watching his bullpen blow that many games, has taken it’s toll on him.

Its taken a toll on me, so I can just imagine how the team feels about it

Albert want to win badly so I can see how that Brewers series
took alot out of his “mental strength” right now.

Putting away a rather skunky Rolling Rock. (Going to the bench after burning all my starters last night.)
Trying to decide where to kick it tonight over this last inning.

Just got back
from two hours of margaritas and gorditas with the wife and my folks at peublo solis. Not the way I had hoped the game would have unwound upon return.
Time for some wine.
My fellow Americans. As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball, but tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

Why the hell didn't Thompson get the start today over Boggs?
Thompson isn’t great, but he’s a much better option than Boggs at this point.

just get DFA’d already
by Hardcore Legend on Jul 25, 2008 9:37 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I know the fact he is still on the team is really amazing
I would think about 95% of the rest of the teams in MLB would have DFA’ed him a few months ago.
