Predict the remainder of the season

The Cardinals are currently 57-46.  Setting aside tonight's game against Ben Sheets (due to time constraints), predict the number of wins the Cardinals will win during the last 58 games. (Schedule)  You can be as technical or non-technical as you like.  I'm not looking to create a debate over how to guess their ending record merely poll the community to get a revised estimate of the team's record this year.

Just the number of wins -- nothing else, please.  I'll close the thread and calc the results prior to Friday's game.

[Update: Thanks for the input.  Results in the 105 game thread.]

Crap.

Neither HL nor I set aside tonight’s game. Oh well.

We'll end up at 90 wins

and miss the wild card by 2 games. Brewers will win the division. Cubs or Phils take the Wildcard.

I'm in agreement...

on the ninety wins, however I think the Cubs will take the division with the Brew-Crew left to fight for the WC with the Phiting Phils.

[Homer shows Bart "Wonderbat".]
Bart: Wow. How many home runs you gonna hit with that thing?
Homer: Let's see... We play thirty games. Ten at-bats a game. Mm...three thousand.

Enough to get into the playoffs behind a healthy Wainwright and Carp.

92-70. 1st place in the NL Central Wild card playoff with Brewers/Cubs. Brewers win.

35-20. Team goes on a big win streak once Wainwright/Carpenter return.

My fellow Americans. As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball, but tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

Win eight of our last ten to make the Cubs sweat, but fall just short of the wc.

Can I have another guess?

12 wins. 25 heartbreaking losses that should have been wins…but, alas…12 wins.

I don’t foresee the bullpen woes being solved this season, and counting on the return of two injured starting pitchers to shore up the rotation is a risky gamble.

I think the Cards are in good stead for 2009, but they’ll probably run out of gas before this season is over.

Final record 85-77—an unqualified success for the ‘08 Cards, no matter how you slice it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they found a way to win 90, but I’m not counting on it.

Lost Season?

If Mo and the Cardinals’ management sit back and allow the trade deadline to pass without making a deal for a good relief pitcher or another solid starter they might as well say that they’ve quit on this season. Are they counting on a healthy Carpenter and Wainwright to win their remaining starts and pitch at least 8 innings each game? I don’t believe that they thought the Cardinals would be in a pennant race this year. A new stadium that continues to sell out at higher prices and Cardinals’ management continues to squeeze all they can out of their last dime! Sounds like they already have decided to cast Lohse away after the season!
