I know one single position player doesn't matter in the grand scheme of one game
But I feel we’d be at least tied with Luddy instead of Duncan, who has been a Rally killer tonight.
alright
i missed the last 2 1/2 innings. what happened to our lead?

Tonight?
Ditto…..is it my imagination, or do we have more spark when Luddy plays rather than Duncan?

over the weekend some telecast said glaus had more rbi's
than any MLB player to switch teams this year.
Send down Mather, Garcia, Perez
Bring up Jiminez, Flores, Boggs.
I don’t know how much this has been discussed, but how on earth is this an upgrade?
I was perplexed
I haven’t said anything because we have been winning lately… but what a weird move. I guess they are going to slowly rotate them in and out of the majors

dont think so.
im sure theyre thinking carp throws a side and makes another rehab start and if he feels good hes with the team. boggs starts the next one in the 5th starters slot until then.
Who knows?
If there’s a game that can be won with him taking long-relief duties, yeah, probably. If it’s mop-up, probably not. You might see Johnny Wholestaff start Friday. I don’t think LaRussa even knows yet.

Just wondering:
why are there Cubs fans there?
Not complaining or anything, just wondering why they’re at a Cards-Brewers game.
cubs games
i’ve been to cubs games in chicago that the cards weren’t in… and i wore my cardinals hat
if you are a baseball fan, you’ll go to a game about anywhere
true that
went to some stros games in houston
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2
...and if you're a Cubs fan
then ESPN will show you no matter what game you’re attending
"Give a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a night. Set him on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life."
uh
you do understand the size difference in the two markets… right?
?
not sure I understand where you’re going with that. Please explain
"Give a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a night. Set him on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life."
money
small market, big market
chicago is one of the big three… we aren’t even close
but how does that explain
why they would show Cubs fans at a Milwaukee-StL game? That somehow it would improve ratings b/c the Cubs fans that happened to be tuning in at the time would be impressed? I still don’t understand the connection with big market -> show the fans at another game
"Give a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a night. Set him on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life."
sorry i've been at work so I am sure this has been said but...
God this line up sucks…how the hell can you sit ludwick, I just don’t get it

I disagree...
Not putting in Lud against a righty, then losing a game because you only score 2 runs is all Tony’s fault.
Sure, Pineiro gave up 3 runs. But 3 runs is good for Piniero. I’d take that every start, just about.
If you can't hit Gagne,
you better call it a night.
Now I’m wondering if struggling to beat the pathetic Padres each night might have been tipoff that things may be not be so rosy from this point on in the season…..hope I’m wrong…..It’s just discouraging watching this. With Sheets and Sabbathia coming up, this is a game we HAVE to win.

it's a 1 run game!!
Why wouldn’t you save your 2nd best hitter for the possibility of extra innings?

I wish Jack Clark would get hold of Glaus
he’d be awesome if he didn’t have those spells where he hesitates… I’m gonna swing… no I’m not.
I've never seen a guy...
so consistently take a first-pitch fastball right down the middle, hack at something on o-1, and be in a hole before you can blink an eye…
at least he got it out of the infield this time

Wow, Duncan Sucks
3 key ABs this game, 3 outs
Too bad you can’t just pull an All-star off the bench. If only it were that easy.
one game u think they need a reliever
the next your like wow they are pretty solid in th epen they need a bat..
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2
problem is, the O's keep winning
and they are still run by that old lawyer who eats babies

Luddy be have to be a hero tonight in the 9th
Was hoping he’d PH for numbnuts in the 8th, but I should have known.
cmon
at least throw in Ludwick for defense, unless he’s just not available to play tonight for some reason

He looks _completely_ lost
Why the heck else would he still be here?
Send him down and get him to work out his swing.
Yea, Duncan is a great power hitter
and every ball he doesn’t get to was going to be impossible for anyone else anyways.
at least
michael bradley earned his playing time
what would you call duncan circa 2006 and first half 2007?
by stlcardinalsfang on Jul 21, 2008 9:53 PM EDT up reply actions
clearly
Dave was paying opposing pitchers to lob them to Chris. That’s the only way to explain such a pathetic player having any kind of success. You all know how it goes.
it's a joke
lil’ bradley earned his first cap under bruce arena at the ripe old age of 17 or 18 after being called into camp as a practice player before the last world cup
he got into one friendly… then was shipped off to holland, where he starred for heerenveen this past year… with something like 17 league goals for the 3rd or 4th place team in the dutch first division… not bad for a 20 year old
but everyone likes to say that he’s only around because of his dad, the current usmnt coach
still a stupid argument
just as it was two hours ago.

if it were true nepotism
he’d be a starter, right?
strikeouts from left-center
by Cards Fan in Chitown on Jul 21, 2008 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions
it's not nepotism
it plane bull headed stubbornness.
Tony still thinks Dunk will morph back into the power hitter he was a year ago, and no one, not even MO will ever convince him otherwise.
I'm going to go try to find a puppy and kick it. - Brad Thompson AND THAT'S A WINNER!
i can somewhat agree with that argument
because tony knows that dunk has power and he’s trying to do whatever possible to get that out of him again.
by stlcardinalsfang on Jul 21, 2008 9:55 PM EDT up reply actions
It has to be nepotism
Or Dunc (and Izzy) have compromising photos on TLR

seriously...
sign bonds. offer reyes, boggs, garcia or mortenson, duncan and kennedy for brian roberts.
would you rather continue to see Pujols' greatness wasted?
He’s not going to play forever – why not maximize his time as a Cardinal by giving him some protection?
