I think ESPN would like Milwaukee to change the team's

name to the Sabathians.

I know one single position player doesn't matter in the grand scheme of one game

But I feel we’d be at least tied with Luddy instead of Duncan, who has been a Rally killer tonight.

by TheBirds on Jul 21, 2008 8:45 PM EDT   0 recs

alright

i missed the last 2 1/2 innings. what happened to our lead?

by stlcardinalsfang on Jul 21, 2008 8:47 PM EDT   0 recs

Tonight?

Ditto…..is it my imagination, or do we have more spark when Luddy plays rather than Duncan?

by ccthemovieman on Jul 21, 2008 8:48 PM EDT   0 recs

Duncan is to a fire

what Vicks Vapor Rub is to a romantic evening out.

yep

what a good trade

over the weekend some telecast said glaus had more rbi's

than any MLB player to switch teams this year.

by rlgosnell on Jul 21, 2008 8:51 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Send down Mather, Garcia, Perez

Bring up Jiminez, Flores, Boggs.

I don’t know how much this has been discussed, but how on earth is this an upgrade?

by TheBirds on Jul 21, 2008 8:50 PM EDT   0 recs

I was perplexed

I haven’t said anything because we have been winning lately… but what a weird move. I guess they are going to slowly rotate them in and out of the majors

by Cards Fan in Chitown on Jul 21, 2008 8:51 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

to be honest

garcia is still here and boggs is in memphis.

by stlcardinalsfang on Jul 21, 2008 8:51 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

And what exactly did Garcia do to deserve to be sent back down?

Did you know…

The Traffic Light, the modern day Bra, the Ford Model T, and Instant Coffee have all been invented since the Cubs last won a World Series…

by NoSteroidsHere on Jul 21, 2008 8:51 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

He pitched

It’s not punishment. They were concerned they needed another relief arm in the next four days more than they needed Garcia to start Friday. Makes sense, actually.

But will Boggs be pitching in relief?

Did you know…

by NoSteroidsHere on Jul 21, 2008 8:53 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

dont think so.

im sure theyre thinking carp throws a side and makes another rehab start and if he feels good hes with the team. boggs starts the next one in the 5th starters slot until then.

by rlgosnell on Jul 21, 2008 8:54 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Who knows?

If there’s a game that can be won with him taking long-relief duties, yeah, probably. If it’s mop-up, probably not. You might see Johnny Wholestaff start Friday. I don’t think LaRussa even knows yet.

by Red in Chicago on Jul 21, 2008 8:54 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

maybe someone answered this already…...just to replenish the bullpen arms….boggs is ready for the next couple of games, whereas garcia wouldn’t be

by NorseKaiser on Jul 21, 2008 8:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Shannon talking story with Jay Randolph, can someone call the game for me. I've lost interest in the South African triathalon . . .

Dunc

He does it all – stinks on offense and defense!

by ccthemovieman on Jul 21, 2008 8:53 PM EDT   0 recs

did he miss a play earlier

he butchured that one

I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2

ludwick would’ve caught it either.

Agreed

Although some hustle wouldn’t hurt

by riotmute on Jul 21, 2008 8:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I don't know

Running straight towards a ball does wonders for a player’s range.

by TheBirds on Jul 21, 2008 8:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

oh for god's sake

he wouldn’t have caught it anyway.

by stlcardinalsfang on Jul 21, 2008 8:56 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

he did look like he was slacking a bit

but at least he didn’t over run the ball. doesn’t have the best brakes

i think the problem with people

is the lack of urgency he had on that

I see the A's have done well since

unloading their top pitchers in the middle of their pennant race. Fools.

by ccthemovieman on Jul 21, 2008 8:57 PM EDT   0 recs

I'd hate to be an A's fan

it’d be almost as bad as being a Royals fan, or an Expos fan when they were still in Montreal….just an AAA team for everybody else….

by nota bene on Jul 21, 2008 8:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

the as find ways

to make it interesting though

I'm sick of listening to Steve Phillips

He is like the ultimate ESPN announcer, he just makes obvious statements and goes with popular opinion 100% of the time

/Done complaining

does that mean you’re finished being finished with complaining? ;-)

My Dream

Duncan hits a foul ball, throwing out his shoulder in the process, the foul ball hits Steve Phillips and breaks his jaw.
