Horton speculated

they’d use him to pitch to the lefty Giles… but changed his mind.

I was wondering about that

maybe Tony thinks we’e going to extras….?

yeah

he could have at least gave looper an at bat.

by adiueordie on Jul 20, 2008 3:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I was wondering that same thing.

I guess they want to let him get a bat in during his first start.

Is there any chance

of getting another relief pitcher from somewhere…...anywhere??!!!!

by ccthemovieman on Jul 20, 2008 5:20 PM EDT reply actions

sure

but it all depends on what we are willing to give up and honestly, i’m not willing to give up much. our bullpen is just being used outside of their appropriate roles. give frank the closer job, i know he is a rollercoaster pitcher but he’s no different than izzy was a few years ago. bring perez back up. kmac setup.

by lopey986 on Jul 20, 2008 5:22 PM EDT up reply actions

who's left?

Franklin is supposedly unavailable, and Springer can’t pitch much. this might be Thompson’s game to win or lose. we’ve already used everybody else but Villone, right?

i’d rather just score here and not have to worry about it.

As I have said b4 the pen will need help

they hav avg 3.5 innings a game. Whether thats a innings eater or a solid arm somehing has to be done. That is if they want to make a run..

I still cant find where they rank as a pen in IP.
