I'm in Boston for a reunion

And can’t get the game, so I’m relying on gamecast and u folks. Is this looking like a delay, or a rain out?

go cards.

There's some gnarly weather hanging out all over Northern and Western Missouri

so if they do get it in, they’re going to have to play like the wind!

nice

If that pun was indeed intended. Thanks.

I feel bad for my mom.

She’s at the game tonight on a “first date” kinda thing with a Met’s fan. I know when I’m at a game, even though they still sell beer, I hate rain delays.

by mikeonthecards on Jul 2, 2008 9:34 PM EDT   0 recs

how dare you let your mother go on a date with a Mets fan!

I suppose it’s better than a Cubs fan though :P

I’m flying in to St. Louis on Friday for the Cubs series. Can’t wait!

my only trip to Busch II

during the delay the scoreboard flashed—Have a BUD and wait this flood out!

I'm in FL

what’s it look like there

Like my living room

the living room is located in the basement, as there are 4 levels to the house. They are all split by small sets of stairs. We have two lamps and an overhead ceiling fan. The dog is asleep and I’m flipping between the various other ball games. There is an assortment of magazines on the coffee table and shelf with various little trinkets hanging on the wall. The missus lit a scented candle on the end table and you can see the flicker of the tiny flame on the wall, in an area the lamp light just doesn’t cover.

Why, what’s it look like there?

Very descriptive.

It’s like I’m in your living room too.

Usually I like your posts... Usually

But since you asked, my living room is dirty as hell, because my roommates refuse to clean anything. But the 63 inch HD draws enough attention that I don’t notice it while the Cards are playing, except when the MLB.TV rain delay graphic is on.

MLB.tv on a 63 in

HDTV must be aliased to heck and back.

But my kingdom for a television bigger than my car!

Yeah, picture really is terrible

sitting on the end of the large L-shaped couch

I glance about the room seeing lots of cds, books, and dvds stored about the room. my hard drive recorder/mixer lies on the floor amongst multiple 1/4” audio cables as I turn on my practice amp and play the game through it. why I have been listening to the games lately through my guitar amp is anyone’s guess.

heh

good one. actually, when I tried the built in delay it sounds more like an empty stadium. the reverb sounded like at the bottom of a well or in a cave. the best sounding one is the chorus though.

Another good relief inning for Clement

He has yet to give up a run as a reliever in Memphis

boo cubs, hooray beer

by Raconteur on Jul 2, 2008 9:55 PM EDT   0 recs

I wouldn't

mind seeing him pitch till he starts to buckle. Just to see if he can handle multiple innings

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

by showmejoe on Jul 2, 2008 9:57 PM EDT   0 recs

I also wouldn't mind him pitching multiple innings,

but not in a close game like this one. I think they should ease him back into things with low pressure situations.

Supplemental rounder Lance Lynn with 3 strong innings tonight

3 IP / 1 H/ 0 ER / 0BB / 3 K’s

He’ll most likely be taking the Clayton Mortensen route , ie the express train to Memphis.

the delay sent me over to the rays game and

watching them try to come back against the sox and one of the sparks has been bartlett, their ss. reminded of the zobrist talk. any word on zobrist and how close he may be to bartlett, who is playing very well this year.

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you haven't grasped the situation!

by sportsman on Jul 2, 2008 10:04 PM EDT   0 recs

Zobrist is a man without a job over there

Reid Brignac is in AAA, knocking on the door to the majors and Tim Beckham they just drafted 1st overall, is a 5 tool shortstop
