no, what i said was
that certain members of the community were uncomfortable with the direction the erin andrews worship was going - i thought their complaint was legitimate, and i asked other members of the community to be respectful and stop posting the pictures.
you have a problem w/ my decision, and you’re entitled to your opinion. you had your say about it last night. but just let it go now, ok? everyone else has made peace with my decision, whether they like it or not, and moved on. ya’ll can look at erin andrews picture all you want elsewhere on the internet - just not here.
i considered it dropped yesterday
i was just trying to let those that missed yesterdays posts what was expected of every one from now on. i’m sorry if you picked up on any sarcasm, none was intended.

Is pitching for the yankees right now. Which is good. They need a pitcher who knows how to turn corners.
Main thread today-pitching woes
Just a thought. Why can’t we start stretching out Kyle McClellan? I wouldn’t mind seeing his “stuff” in the second half of the season.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
No
He is not conditioned to be a starter. He would have to be sent down to Memphis first
by FlimtotheFlam on Jul 2, 2008 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions
then when Clement or Carpenter come back to the pen
send him down the the Memphis rotation
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
i was all for that
earlier in the season. but at this point, we need him more in the bullpen i think. let him stretch out this winter and make a run at the rotation next spring.
I responded
but I’ll tell you here what I said there.
McClellan has been our best reliever (save Russ Springer) and Jason Motte goes really, really wild at times.
I know he would be greatlty missed in the pen
but it would seem easier to replace him there than find a good starter
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
It would take him the better part of the month to get stretched out
That’s a better part of a month he’s not helping the team at all. No thanks.
Let’s not take a Joba cue from the Yankees and try this half way through the season. K-Mac allows Russ to not be overused, which allows us to have a 1-2 punch should we need it in mid relief. We’re losing games with the pen, let’s not make it weaker, thanks:)

Does anyone know anything about this guy? He is the 1B for Springfield batting .957 OPS. He started in Quad Cities and he is already in Springfield. He is batting .914 for the season and we just drafted this guy in 07.

beltran probably had an MVP case in 2006
he was certainly a better player than Ryan Howard that year. Albert should have won it but beltran should have been a close #2.

yeah
he’s outperforming his career averages right now and people are asking “what happened to him”... I guess the lower overall offense this year is making a difference, too. An .878 OPS in NY last year and a .839 OPS this year are worth a 126 and 124 OPS+, respectively…

Thundering
I just heard the first rumbles
"It's such a beautiful sport, with no politics involved, no color, no class. Only as a youngster can you play and as a pro can you win. The game has kept me young, involved and excited and for me to be up here with gems of baseball"- Jack Buck
For the record
Keith Hernandez, color announcer for Mets (whose very good in my opinion), said of Miles, “I like this guy. He is scrappy”. Also, the Mets have not overcome a lead greater than two runs all season (to win).

I'll probably never forget
was it azru with the “Hey Franklin, you threw that pitch already 5 seconds ago!” after the Nats game.

He wouldn't have gotten to that
he’d have been playing in Glaus’ back pocket.

Sometimes I really get tired of the excessive shading that goes on
Ryan was almost playing third on that hit. I am almost convinced that the excessive shading is hurting rather than helping this team.
it all balances out in the end

But does the shading work more frequently than it doesn't?
I agree that it works sometimes, but frequently hits like that one to the standard shortstop position get through.
And it seems even worse with the outfielders, especially the corner outfielders.
I'm not seeing a mulder appearance tonight...
...basically.

Getting a little worried
This makes 2 bad outings for Pineiro in a row
Wellemeyer has been very bad in 2 of his last 3 outings
boo cubs, hooray beer
You pitch to contact
and sometimes the bull geeets you.
by Hardcore Legend on Jul 2, 2008 9:20 PM EDT up reply actions
pitching to contact is great
but you still need an out pitch. just like wellemeyer last night, get people to 2 strikes and a complete failure to get them to swing and miss
boo cubs, hooray beer
dead slider can cause that

Isn't it ironic?
I mean, we’re leading off of a HR, but we pissed a lot of teams off with the way the Mets have been playing, single city with a double here and there.

the irony is
how eerily similar this is to last nights game.

frustrated
The pitching for our cards is not going to hold up. I am so tired of hearing about Matt Holliday. They don’t need him. Ank has 17 Homers, Ludwick 16 homers, and Albert 17 homers. they have the protection and power. I sit and watch Wellemeyer and Pinerio get scortched, and this will continue. Make a move for a quality starter! Go after C.C.! Mulder won’t do didddly pooh, and Wellemeyer has been figured out. Also- What is up with this TV answer Al? He is the WORST announcer I have ever heard: Boring, annoying, lazy, and does he even like the Cardinals? After listening to John Rooney and Mike Shannon on the Radio for years, the adjustment to this TV thing is ROUGH! God that Al guy sucks! Give me some Shannon on TV! Lets get 3/4 from the Mets! Alright Dunc, tie ‘er up!
