...

I’m stuck at work, any news on a rain delay?

I’m looking at the webcams and it looks dreary…
and I ponder weak and weary….
over quaint and curious volume of forgotten VEB Lore.
Pedro will be good, nevermore.

that was a haiku

I’m telling the Mets to lose at home because Pineiro is due (lots of no decisions even though he pitched well)

It’s the old home-and-home series.

it seems like it would be a hoax

who the hell would tell everyone that they are going to streak? it takes the spontaneity out of it.

i was just informing them of what you said yesterday

I'm going to go try to find a puppy and kick it. - Brad Thompson AND THAT'S A WINNER!

by gdm426 on Jul 2, 2008 8:14 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

no, what i said was

that certain members of the community were uncomfortable with the direction the erin andrews worship was going - i thought their complaint was legitimate, and i asked other members of the community to be respectful and stop posting the pictures.

you have a problem w/ my decision, and you’re entitled to your opinion. you had your say about it last night. but just let it go now, ok? everyone else has made peace with my decision, whether they like it or not, and moved on. ya’ll can look at erin andrews picture all you want elsewhere on the internet - just not here.

by lboros on Jul 2, 2008 8:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i considered it dropped yesterday

i was just trying to let those that missed yesterdays posts what was expected of every one from now on. i’m sorry if you picked up on any sarcasm, none was intended.

Is pitching for the yankees right now. Which is good. They need a pitcher who knows how to turn corners.

Main thread today-pitching woes

Just a thought. Why can’t we start stretching out Kyle McClellan? I wouldn’t mind seeing his “stuff” in the second half of the season.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

by showmejoe on Jul 2, 2008 7:47 PM EDT   0 recs

No

He is not conditioned to be a starter. He would have to be sent down to Memphis first

by FlimtotheFlam on Jul 2, 2008 7:49 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

then when Clement or Carpenter come back to the pen

send him down the the Memphis rotation

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

by showmejoe on Jul 2, 2008 7:52 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i was all for that

earlier in the season. but at this point, we need him more in the bullpen i think. let him stretch out this winter and make a run at the rotation next spring.

by adiueordie on Jul 2, 2008 7:53 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I responded

but I’ll tell you here what I said there.

McClellan has been our best reliever (save Russ Springer) and Jason Motte goes really, really wild at times.

by Tackle Box on Jul 2, 2008 7:53 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I know he would be greatlty missed in the pen

but it would seem easier to replace him there than find a good starter

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

by showmejoe on Jul 2, 2008 7:54 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

It would take him the better part of the month to get stretched out

That’s a better part of a month he’s not helping the team at all. No thanks.

by Tackle Box on Jul 2, 2008 7:58 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Let’s not take a Joba cue from the Yankees and try this half way through the season. K-Mac allows Russ to not be overused, which allows us to have a 1-2 punch should we need it in mid relief. We’re losing games with the pen, let’s not make it weaker, thanks:)

Andrew Brown

Does anyone know anything about this guy? He is the 1B for Springfield batting .957 OPS. He started in Quad Cities and he is already in Springfield. He is batting .914 for the season and we just drafted this guy in 07.

by FlimtotheFlam on Jul 2, 2008 8:12 PM EDT   0 recs

Alot like Steve Hill

He’s really a non-prospect because of his age/draft status, but you hope that he’ll continue to rake and prove he is for real.

boo cubs, hooray beer

by Raconteur on Jul 2, 2008 8:13 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Hill and Brown are 23 and in AA

is that really too old to not be a prospect?

* sarcasm might be involved in this comment
