Game 98 Overflow Thread
Missed a big opportunity there but we'll get a couple more chances to win this one. It'd be a shame to blow it. Let's go boys!

gotta win the last 3 innings now

Russ Springer
Here’s hoping he can keep this up the rest of the season. Guy’s pitching great.

last night (i was at the game) when i was sure franklin was going to blow i was thinking why the cardinals don’t give russ a chance to close games.

he isn't going to be able to go
Every day. As it is he doesn’t pitch back-to-back games are even back-to-back innings.

Springer and Lohse and after that only a forlorn hope of late. Nice inning, Russ

trades?
I don’t get where people are making an argument that we need a pitcher before a bat. A bat can help catch up with the cubs everyday compared to a pitcher who throws every five days. We have match up pitchers, especially when Wainwright gets back. Lohse, Wain, and Looper ( proved he can pitch against most number 2s last year.) and MAYBEE HOPEFULLY Carp

Answered you in the last thread
Name a big bat who can play the middle infield with good defense and who won’t cost Razzle Dazzle and we’ll talk. (I like Khalil Greene)
We’re set very well in the outfield. We could use a better backup 3B/Spiezio-type. But we could use more pitching and pitching is a little easier to come by.

Set in the OF
When we talk about Bay or Nady or anyone of that ilk I get sick
Those guys are great but we can replicate that. If we could (not saying we would) get Roberts (BAL) or Kinsler (TEX) for a mixture of spare parts I’d do it. I just know that’s not gonna happen. I guess we gotta deal with Kennedy, BR, and Miles for a little while. I’d love to get back Ronnie Belliard, but I doubt that’s what Mo’s going after.
