Pujols and Berkman in ASG
After looking at the starting lineups for the all star game tonight, I thought it was strange that Pujols is batting 4th behind Berkman. Pujols' batting average and OBP are higher than Berkman (.350 and .466 vs. .347 and .443) while Berkman's slugging percentage is higher than Pujols' (.608 vs. .653). It seems to me that since Pujols is more likely to get on base, and Berkman is more likely to hit it out of the park, it makes sense to put Pujols in front of Berkman. Any thoughts as to why Pujols is batting 4th?

who knows
berkman is hitting .384/.468/.719 from the 4th spot this year (much better than he is from the 3rd spot).
maybe it’s because albert is likely to play the entire game as DH, whereas berkman, the fan choice, will probably be replaced at some point by adrian gonzalez. batting berkman third might get him an extra at-bat he “deserves.”

Pujols should bat 3rd
especially if he’s in the whole game. although he does have the ability to hit the ball very far.
strikeouts from left-center

it would also make more sense
to put Pujols at 1b and Berkman at 1st, since Pujol’s D is so good. I know Berkman was voted in, but still

I'm Just Happy Pujols STARTED
Even if it was DH. Clint Hurdle made a nice move. Just like TLR last year; save StL’s best player’s body for games that count.
