Well ladies and gentlemen,

It looks like we have a four inning ball game on our hands…

Did you know…

I'm ready for a 3-day break

I hope that the whole team (other than the ones in NYC) stay completely away from baseball for those three days. Take their mind off of it and everything.

by Pitchers Hit Eighth on Jul 13, 2008 3:15 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah, it has seemed that way to me since about the middle of last year.

when it became clear the Edmonds was out. I think he really showed himself as the leader in our world series run.

by Egyptian on Jul 13, 2008 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions

That is a good idea.

Birthday coming up. Might ask for that.

by Egyptian on Jul 13, 2008 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Well, my first choice is a new 40+ inch HDTV.

But, if the old ball and chain does not get me that, then a Yadi jersey would be a nice backup.

I would almost rather have it say “Yadi” though, than “Molina.”

by Egyptian on Jul 13, 2008 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions

go with the

vizio 42 inch full 1080p hdtv from wal mart. under a grand and a great great tv.

by lopey986 on Jul 13, 2008 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks.

I just had a Sanyo go out on me, so I am in the market for a better brand.

I was thinking Samsung. What is the rep on Vizio?

by Egyptian on Jul 13, 2008 3:25 PM EDT up reply actions

samsung

makes some BEAUTIFUL tvs, albeit a bit more expensive than vizio.

by lopey986 on Jul 13, 2008 3:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I know, but they are not as bad as Sony in price,

and seem to come with similar quality.

H.H. Gregg seems to have good prices on Samsungs, but I don’t think I will find anything 40+ inches cheaper than 1000, so I may check out the deal at Wal-mart.

by Egyptian on Jul 13, 2008 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions

it's a good deal

i bought a motorcycle about a month ago so i blew the money i planned on spending on a big screen…but from all the reviews as well as recommendations from friends and some guys at various electronics stores…if you are on a budget and want a very nice big screen hdtv then vizio is a good way to go.

i’m planning on waiting for black friday to see what kind of tv deals come out, but if there is nothing better than the vizio i’m gonna end up picking that up.

Mitsubishi DLP TVs

If you want to go bigger, Mitsubishi makes an excellent DLP television. I bought 12867/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do”>one of these 2 years ago, and the picture is so good my dad and brother in law both went and bought the same thing after seeing it in my basement :)

OT: damn prices have really come down lately. I paid $2300 for that tv, and now it’s down under a grand!

I have heard good things about Mitsubishi as well, but there don’t seem to be as many of them on the market.

god, people really sound like idiots when

using W-L as a valid stat for pitching. Kyle Loshe is a pimp, but he’s not an allstar.

"How depressing is it being you? Would you equate it to being a lifelong Cubs fan?"

by rocKStark5 on Jul 13, 2008 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

he is 10-2 with a 3.39 era...

what more does he need to do to be considered an all star? i haven’t looked at the rotation for the nl but i’m willing to bet his numbers are better than at least 1 or 2 of the starters.

by lopey986 on Jul 13, 2008 3:19 PM EDT up reply actions

he is certainly better than Marmol

or better than he has been recently.
It reminds me of the time Fuentes made the team…

right after being removed fromt he closer role.

I also think Loshe isnt an all star, just because he just isnt that talented of a pitcher, I know he is having a great year and im glad and I appreciate all he does for this team and what he presance has meant…but he isnt a Peavy or a Lincecum or whatever.

the ASG (IMO) is for the Pujols and the HanRams and the true superstars not the hot half guys…

there was an article recently about the forget able first half all stars, I wish I could remember where it was. I mean wasnt Loshe relegated to the pen a year or two ago, or is my memory gone?

McLouth got picked off

during the rundown, the runner on third made a move toward home. They threw to third to hold the runner. McLout advanced to second on THAT throw.

Exactly.

Now both corner outfielders are bad.

We are going to have 1 bad corner outfielder in this game no matter what with either Dunc or Mather having to play. But, with Ludwick in right, at least you limit the damage only to left field.

There really was no reason whatsoever to put Ludwick in left. We really didn’t gain anything … well, except a loss.

TONY & PINERO ARE MADE OF FAIL

HOW DOES THIS BULLSH*T KEEP FREAKING HAPPENING?! WHEN WILL TONY GET IT THROUGH HIS THICK SKULL THAT THESE GUYS HE’S PUTTING ON THE MOUND ARE NO BETTER THEN 8TH GRADERS HURLING.

Between last night and today, I hope tony gets the idea that we don’t need a new bat to protect albert. thats the biggest pile of crap i’ve ever heard. it’s like he’s at the helm of a ship that’s headed directly into a hurricane and he just says full speed ahead.

by Elvis on Jul 13, 2008 3:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Ok so he's lobbying now

but um, that’s way late.

we should have been scouting new arms at least a month ago.

guys like sabanthia and harden go to the cubs and brewers, and tony was still talking about hitters, even tho he’s got 4 guys nearly at 20 homers.

I guess it took them blowing a game with 22 hits for him to finally figure out that his pitchers are jokes.

And anyway…we should have gotten AJ instead of mulder in 04 anyway…. or was it 05?

has A.J. really been that much better than what we have?...I mean sure i'd love to have him,

but lets not act like he’s a cy young pitcher or even an all-star for that matter

Does the "J" in T.J. Beam stand for Jim by any chance?

If he were on our team we wouldn’t have needed to create the term “Franklins”

they have 6 outs left vs our 4 runs…I don’t like our chances

For the record

Our win expectancy is currently 95.4%. If we lost a game with a 99.5% expectancy last night, we’re doomed today

I HATE that our guys have to break their faces day in day out in the outfield to chase down these beachballs our staff is serving up.

Left field

is tougher in Pittsburgh – or at least you need more range with that insert.

Why pinch-run for him?

You don’t gain that much in speed, and that’s one guy off the bench when Pitt scores 5 in the 9th.

what are you talking about?

Right handed pitcher so he isn’t going to pinch hit. It’s the 9th inning. Would it be better if he would have waited until the buttom of the 9th?
