Bucs announcers say

he was “escorted” to the clubhouse by Weinberg. Better than “carried” or “helped” to the clubhouse. Probably a turn; might not be bad … but then again, it might.

he walked off the field

and i saw the replay, he twisted his ankle, nothing to worry about.

don’t mean the same thing for a pro athlete’s body as for ours. Lots more muscle mass attached to those tendons! He’s probably not hurt too badly … but …

This game is driving me crazy. Anytime the Cards take a big lead, I think of the game a few years back against the Reds – the Mabry grand slam. You can’t take anything for granted with this bullpen.

Well,

that certainly did suck.

Why don't you just make like a tree, and get out of here?

Mo better make a few calls

for relief help as soon as he wakes up tomorrow morning.

Damn

That’s a bad loss, but I think I’ve become desensitized to it.

I haven't

we just blew a 7 run lead. We haven’t done that yet this year.

mather hrs us over to come back from a 7 run defecit, lose
up 9-3, they tie, glaus hrs in the 10th, lose

Dear Time Travelers of the Future:

Please go back to 2007, kidnap our bullpen, and replace our current one with last season’s.

Thank you,

I feel like I was just kicked in the stomach.

Do all of our pitchers have to give up homeruns? Is that like a rule now?

by peach concrete on Jul 12, 2008 10:48 PM EDT reply actions

true

but I don’t know how that qualifies as ‘worse’.

by Phizzle on Jul 12, 2008 10:49 PM EDT up reply actions

more drawn out?

You make a good point – but at least home runs are over in one pitch.

by Pitchers Hit Eighth on Jul 12, 2008 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions

I suppose being shot repeatedly is slightly better..

than being slowly dissolved by acid, yes.

We used to play that game in high school – what’s the worst way to die.

So what’s the baseball loss equivalent of being eaten alive from the inside by rats? Cause I’m thinking this is ranking up there. It doesn’t involve the Cubs or post-season play, but it sucks. Hard.
