Kennedy seemed stunned

by Izturis giving him the ball for the DP. Then he almost tore Glaus’ groin.

Gonna lose tonight

but 5 runs from two pitchers is pretty impressive. Interesting game.

Ludwick is on a bit of a downward spiral

boo cubs, hooray beer

don't get too down on Studwick

he has been streaky this year, every time his avg gets down near .300 he goes on a tear and gets it back up near .350. I sense a hot streak coming. 4 HRs starting in houston

* sarcasm might be involved in this comment

by mattyfrommo on Jun 5, 2008 9:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Huh?

It’s only been 10 starts since his last HR and he’s managed to pick up 6 RBIs.

by Hardcore Legend on Jun 5, 2008 9:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Slump may be harsh

If not hitting .350 is a slump than a lot of people are doing it. Plus there have been a lot of leftys lately.

I don't think Pujols even warmed up........

I think he was sure that he was going to be walked. He didn’t swing did he?
It was a bad call but the ump knew what was happening. He isn’t going to give the cards anything from here on out.

replacing Parisi?

although I will contradict an earlier post of mine

I bet no one…they will wait for Pineiro to come back before making a move

even at that stage – they still need a long reliever – where Parisi was successful earlier

Worrell is the likely candidate to ship back down when it comes time, IMO

We had a lot more innings to do it,

but the big comeback against the Cubs at Wrigley when Pujols hit three HR after Morris melted down early will always have a special place in my heart.

I think we were down 9-0 in that one…?

by BTown Birds fan on Jun 5, 2008 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well, let's see

Worrell: First career AB, a 3R HR
Parisi: First career hit, a 2R 2B
Mather: First career HR on the 11th pitch in the 10th inning.

The Cincy game, IIRC, saw Edmonds and Mabry go deep in the same inning, but I don’t remember anything else spectacular (besides the ninth inning, that is)
