Game 60 Rain Delay thread

So, we're in a rain delay.  Let's hope they get this in, and the bats stay alive.  I'd hate to see a steal of home not count.  5-0 Cardinals, top of fifth, two on for the cards, no out

It depends on how we do in the makeup game

We lost the makeup with COL. I don’t even know if they’d make this one up unless it’s needed to determine a tie or something like that, or if we get a DH tomorrow or Thursday.

We had a victory vs Colorado

washed away and a loss vs Pittsburgh saved as the rain refused to all out fall down.

Didn't realize you were thinking of the PIT game

I’ll be as pissed as the next guy, but if they postpone this one and we make it up and win, then it’s all the same, save the stats.

General Relativity says that motion is not absolute

and that “the sun revolves around the earth” and the “earth revolves around the sun” are merely statements about what coordinate system you choose to use to describe the universe ;)

They say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger...

nope. Actually

choose a coordinate system with a timelike coordinate that is the generator of the worldline of the earth, and three spacelike coordinates normal to it. The sun revolves around the earth in this coordinate system. And the equivalence principle says that the laws of physics in both systems will be the same.

Yeah

I have no problems with Springer right now. He is a valuable part of the bullpen. He doesn’t need to have central role, but he can eat innings from time to time.

I don’t think it is necessary to pay him to come back next year, however.

by ihavebadknees on Jun 3, 2008 11:51 PM EDT reply actions

Mather

is good at walking tonight, but he needs more experience drawing it. The other night hitting in front of Pujols, he was just taking pitches trying to walk. He needs to take the walk when it is there and hit the ball when it is not. I don’t think he has the figured out yet.

Tie game in SD

Cubs w/ the bases loaded and 2 outs. Ump blew a 2-2 strike it cost the Pads

Oh please.

A ball has to be over the plate to be a strike.

the the Pads should take after a good team, like the Rays

who’d have ever thought they’d get the opportunity to say that

except

Pujols didn’t take out the Rays pitcher and catcher in the same inning

he might never get an opportunity.

NAh, he does't get on top of his pitches

So we cannot trust him with any lead. Sould have kept Jimenez up, now there it a pitchers that throws from the correct arm slot.

Heh

If Jiminez were still up, he would have pitched in this game and we’d be ahead by only one or two runs, if not tied or losing

It has got

to be incredibly hard to locate with that delivery. He is driving toward the dugout, not the plate. How you control the left-right direction of a pitch with that delivery is beyond me.

by Egyptian on Jun 4, 2008 12:16 AM EDT up reply actions

Pretty much

on every pitch the ball starts outside of Molina’s right shoulder. It is just how much does it come back.

by Egyptian on Jun 4, 2008 12:20 AM EDT up reply actions

Watching the home plate cam on the pitch...

really showed how hard it was to locate. Especially coming at you at 90+.

I was excited

that tonight’s game was being played in the time zone that I live in. (Because I need to get some sleep. Yawn!) That didn’t exactly work out for me, thanks to Mother Nature. Good game anyway. ‘Night all, I’m outta here.

by cardsgirl95 on Jun 4, 2008 12:38 AM EDT reply actions

This whole series

is a clusterf* for me, because even though I live in the O’s/Nats “home area”, I can’t watch the games, because
A) they’re blacked out on mlbtv; and B) my Comcast system doesn’t carry MASN.
I’m moving out into the county in two weeks, and that cable system(Jet Broadband) doesn’t carry MASN, either. Oh well…

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

MLB.tv zip code

unless they are now verifying location by IP address (which can be spoofed as well) you can always have them change the zip code for your account, not sure if it has to be the billing location or if there is a current location thing. I have heard of people traveling that have gotten access even though they would have been blacked out had they been at home.

fe;t bad when I lost a finger, then I saw a man with no arm.

Where I live there is a blackout on all MLB. I’m lucky when gameday and audio comes in!

Still wildly happy about this season. I did NOT see it coming. ..
