Game 82 Open Thread- 28th June, 2008
Boggs Davies
2-0, 5.40 3-0, 3.12
Well, I suppose we'll get to see once again if the Cardinals can finally figure out a way to somehow scrape out a victory against the modern day equivalent of the 1927 Yankees, the 2008 Kansas City Royals. You know, there's something wrong with that sentence, I know, but I can't quite figure out what it is...
Last time the Cards faced Davies, just a little over a week ago, the results weren't pretty. 7 IP, 1 R, 5 H. Not so good. Let's hope that seeing him for the second time in such a limited time will give them a better idea of what to do against him this time around.

Pujols and Boggs will be the difference
Boggs needing the 7 runs of support and Pujols being the one to provide it.

Here's hoping. On paper the matchup does not look promising, however. Cards seem to mirror Duncan who seems to mirror the Cards recently. . .

mulder interview
Just saw Shannon’s interview with Mulder. He(mulder) seems like he’s in pretty good spirits and ready to pitch out of the bullpen. Hope he doesn’t get rocked!

On Mulder - which signing was more dubious? Mulder, Kennedy, Martinez?

so adam dunn just hit a scorching line drive home run off of paul bird
no big surprise i know
but in keeping with the theme of the wood picture, as he got to third, he spit his gum out into his hand & threw it into the stands.

they are doing a ceremony for some royals guy.
a bunch of old players and stuff are speaking… its pretty boring. They are celebrate the royals. Part of it was a video of Bo Jackson talking amonst other former Royals greats
That was a real test," Soriano said of the play. "He didn’t call the ball, I didn’t call the ball, but I saw him close to the ball and I let him get the ball."

For the Royals? I’m staring at the schedule at 7:20 when the game should have already started.

Also, did the Royals really just induct a scout
into their HOF? Must have been a scout during the 70s and 80s because whoever was scouting in the 90s wasn’t doing so hot.
