Game 79 overflow
you give up that many baserunners, and sooner or later someone makes you pay . . . . 5-4 detroit heading into the 5th.

It is just a 1 run
lead. They can get that one back. Galaragga isn’t exactly pitching a gem.

Get a couple runs and then we can play bullpen games to guarantee a series win.
Lohse vs Detroit isn’t SSS, it’s pretty obvious they’re owning him.

if it were me
I’d put a rotation of Perez, Springer, KMac and Franklin/Izzy in depending on how the innings go (could stretch a couple of those) and still be ok.

Their starting pitcher was scratched because he has the flu. Then their fill-in lasted only 5 batters and he left with an injury. They look sloopy tonight… no energy.

So, when the Mang comes back
Surely they can no longer have any excuses for keeping Duncan on this team, right? I mean, he got regular playing time, against Right Handed pitching, and he failed miserably. He serves absolutely no purpose on this team.

Gullien had seen pretty much nothing but those fastballs all three at bats, and they had no movement. Only a matter of time and Lohse just kept chucking them in there.
Couple of at bats before though, Lohse got squeezed pretty bad that resulted in a walk, if he were to get those calls, could be a different ballgame.
