Get a couple runs and then we can play bullpen games to guarantee a series win.

Lohse vs Detroit isn’t SSS, it’s pretty obvious they’re owning him.

Gullien had seen pretty much nothing but those fastballs all three at bats, and they had no movement. Only a matter of time and Lohse just kept chucking them in there.

Couple of at bats before though, Lohse got squeezed pretty bad that resulted in a walk, if he were to get those calls, could be a different ballgame.

ratsafrats

I’ve been trying to write a journal entry, but for the last week, my settings haven’t allowed me to post it for whatever reason, and I get logged out.. 3 times after I wrote 10 paragraphs and didn’t save.. damnit.

My journal entry is about this:
Trade Kyle Lohse and his 9-2 3.63 ERA to Phila for 2B Adrian Cardenas.
Don’t need Lohse, he’ll want 12+ mil next year and he CANNOT strike anyone out.. no formula for success. Phils need a #2-3 starter, with only 3 decent guys right now, and they are in contention.
Cardenas.. 06 HS Player of the Year per BA.. 20 year old in High-A, potential to hit .300-15 homers-20 steals each year.. would solve all our 2B problems. Phila can’t use him because they have Utley/Rollins

i believe

if it goes five it can be called official anf that’s that
if it is called by umps at less than 5 full for weather, it’s a start over
if it runs past 5, but hits another obstacle (lights go out, curfews, etc), it is suspended and resumed at a later date

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you haven't grasped the situation!

by sportsman on Jun 25, 2008 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions

I do beleive

that if it goes past 5 and there the away team takes the lead (or ties) in a inning and the game is called before that inning ends then the home team gets a chance to either finish the inning or to finish the game ( i can’t remember which one)

I hear Tony La Russa may bat the Pitcher spot cleanup

the game would be suspended

mlb rule 4.2 (under suspened games)
5) Weather, if a regulation game is called while an inning is in progress and before the inning is completed, and the visiting team has scored one or more runs to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead; or
(6) It is a regulation game that is called with the score tied. National Association Leagues may also adopt the following rules for suspended games. (If adopted by a National Association League, Rule 4.10(e) would not apply to their games.):

possible make up dates

July 7 – STL heading from home to Philadelphia. DET heading home from Seattle
Aug 4 – STL off day during home stand, not idel. DET on their way from Tampa to Chicago
Aug 21 – STL off day during home stand again. DET in the middle of road trip between Arlington and Kansas City. Unlikely.

Amazon Kindle

I just got an Amazon Kindle, It is pretty nice cause I know can read Viva El Birdos anywhere in the country without wifi now.

Yeah

Amazon Kindle is an electronic ebook reader with a built in wireless EVDO internet, The same high speed internet that is on phones, I can download a full book in 30 seconds. Once you buy the kindle there is no monthly subscription for the internet either.

2 Options one you can pay 99 cents a month with no comments but looks better than the free experimental browser with comments. I am still figuring it all out though

i wasn't aware it had built in wireless

that’s pretty neat. are you gonna subscribe to the nytimes that way?

lol, i always thought that was kinda funny. reading a daily newspaper on that thing but maybe it’s cool

Text is easy

Once you start reading it you kind of forget it is an ebook reader looks more like a book. The NY Times is $14 a month plus you get it before it even hits the stands

How depressing is it being you? Is it closer to being a lifelong cubs fan or being born without lips? - Janitor

I just finished playing a quick game of MVP 1967

(ignore the 1969 unis) and Gibby just struck out 12 in 9 innings of 2-hit shutout ball. Brock stole 3 bases, Baby Bull hit a bomb and Maxvil turn 2 amazing DPs.
