Anthony Reyes!
latest post dispatch article.
About time someone starts to think smart. I do not understand why we are not using a viable option like Reyes for these starts. It is way better than bringing up rookies that arent ready. Parisi got rocked two times. Do you think he is sitting around right now thinking he is going to be a great starter now? Bring Anthony Back!

Sticking with the "paging" theme
Could we start calling him “Dr. Reyes,” because it does sound very similar to a famous doctor with a wonderful musical theme song.

Here I am....
I’ve told you all before…this young man needs to be traded to an organization that would like to have him on their mound. Mr. Duncan and Mr. LaRussa deem him unworthy of another chance. Fine. There is no viable reason to keep him here. None. He’s wasting roster space. Mr. Mozeliak really needs to take care of this….....
She isn't crazy, she's just not impressed.

What makes you think he hasn't tried?
He can’t just give ARey away for a bag of balls and a fungo bat. Here’s a young, cost-controlled, cheap starting pitching prospect. Mo’s gotta make sure that if he’s going to trade him, he gets full value for him.
If anything, I admire Mo for not just throwing Reyes away to the highest bidder, and trying to make sure he gets the best possible value.
Again, IF he’s decided trading him is the best option.

He needs to try harder.
A bag of balls and a fungo bat would actually be used in St. Louis. Anthony will not.
He hasn’t pitched well here; Duncan truly seems to have a visceral dislike of him. I don’t see how that ever works. I just don’t.
Any player they will use is a good deal for a player they won’t. I understand why you think it’s admirable that he is not just giving him away. I see it differently-that Mr. Mozeliak is indecisive. We are trading him, no we are not, I want him in the rotation, well, he’s not, I want him in the bullpen, no I don’t, off to Memphis with you! Arms go down, not you, not now, not ever. Mozeliak is the ONLY one who seems to not understand this IMO.
He gave Mo something of value last night-the #2, 3, 4, 5 hitters went 0-the night against him—last time he faced them they roughed him up a bit. Scouts like to see lessons learned. ....
I aplogize for annoying you all…...I’m going back under my rock now.
She isn't crazy, she's just not impressed.

gonna have a hard time finding teams who would like to have a guy with a 5+ ERA on their mound. i don’t care what he does in the minors, it hasn’t translated to the majors, and that’s all that matters.

A first:
Associating Gordo with “smart.” Strangely though, he does not say that his opinion comes from “this corner of Cyberspace”.

And Ken Tremendous
AKA Mose Shrute is all over it on FJM. I think they have poor Gordo on their short list.

The simple fact is
He looks better as a trade candidate when he’s pitching good. That tends to happen when he’s in the minors. I’d rather have decent outings that keep it close (coming from Pinero, Boggs, Lohse, Looper) than him.
Prospects are good. Especially when they aren't rushed.
