MLB Road Records
I'm not much of a stat head myself (although I love reading about them when other people do the math), but I noticed something interesting when I was looking at the standings tonight. Only four teams (LAA, PHI, FLA, STL) have a winning road record, the White Sox are the only team at an even .500, and everyone else is bringing up the rear. I'm not sure what it means, but it feels good to be one of the elite few with a winning record on the road as well as at home.
GO CARDS!!!
LAA (16-11) .593
PHI (15-13) .536

Look at who we've played on the road, though
3 @ HOU (30-28, .517) 4 @ SFG (24-33, .421) 2 @ MIL (29-28, .509) 2 @ PIT (26-30, .464) 4 @ COL (20-37, .351) 4 @ MIL (29-28, .509) 3 @ SDP (23-35, .397) 3 @ LAD (27-28, .491) Total: 179-219, .450
We’re also gonna be going on a road trip to Washington, Houston, and Cincinnati soon. Our competetion on the road hasn’t exactly been stellar. We’ve played most of our toughest games at home.

but
do you really think the 25+ teams below us had it much harder? It’s still a pretty impressive road record considering how well everyone is doing at home.

Some teams had to have had it harder
It’s mathematically impossible for everyone to be playing a composite .450 winning percentage on the road. Briefly looked at the Cubs, and it doesn’t appear that their road schedule has been too much tougher (they did go to Philly though). I’m sure there are teams out there that have faced very tough competition on the road, but I’m too lazy and tired to look them all up.

Well, it's not mathematically IMPOSSIBLE
After all, if the road team always loses, then every team will have a home winning percentage of 1 and a road winning percentage of 0.
But yeah, it’s really improbable
They say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger...

Let me clarify, I wrote that very poorly
What I was trying to say is that the teams we’ve played on the road are playing a composite .450 baseball overall; not just at home or just on the road. Since all of MLB has to add up to a .500 winning percentage, that means some teams must be playing tough competiton on the road (overall record). Sorry for the confusion.

Need to compare home records
looking at the home records of the same list I get the following
3 HOU (15-9, .625)
4 SFG (12-17, .414)
2 MIL (16-10, .615)
2 PIT (15-11, .577)
4 COL (12-14, .461)
4 MIL (16-10, .615)
3 SDP (13-15, .464)
3 LAD (11-17, .393)
Total: 94-93, .503

Kind of suprising to see Atlanta at the bottom
They will not contend with that kind of road record.

That's incredible.
Home field advantage truly does exist.
