I picked a crappy game

to join VEB, but here I am… hi y’all.

by Andyfantastic on May 8, 2008 5:08 PM EDT reply actions

no such thing as a crappy game.

the secret is to just be a bit zen about it all.

Welcome, andy.

For me

this game would not be that bad if we had closed out the game last night.

ESPN Management (CT): Umm…...what does this have to do with the Red Sox and Yankees?
SportsNation Jerry Crasnick: Management, Let’s take a break with the sarcasm, OK?

That game was hurtful last night!

Izzy is losing it. You can see it over the last 3 years. The end is near.

Kick it to me... I'm open!

I'd have to agree

it’s been a slow depreciation of value

he's now got 4 BS ... or is it 5?

he only had 10 through August of 2006.

This is not somebody who’s just having a few rough days.

I'm sure he'll still have his moments

but he just can’t go out there like 4 or 5 times a week and seal the deal

why dont we run more often

we actually have some speed this year

by VolsnCards5 on May 8, 2008 5:15 PM EDT reply actions

We've been caught 8 times, successful 11

We’re costing ourselves runs with most attempts.

With no evidence to the contrary, Colby Rasmus is clutch

but anecdotally

it seems like most of those were failed hit and runs…

I’d like to see izturis, ryan, and barton run, at least.

And I awoke in California, far far from Spancilhill...

by SleepyCA on May 8, 2008 5:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Barton

is the only one of those three that I would actually consider fast, and him stealing would often result in Pujols being walked.

Start Ludwick

by DiscoJer on May 8, 2008 6:16 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't know about you guys

But I’m really liking what I’m seeing from Parisi overall in his two appearances. He’s not dominating, but overly effective (walk withstanding). Hasn’t pitched his way back to Memphis for me.

Parisi with the bat?

Wow. Tony must want to catch the early flight to Milwaukee.

which he is, he’ll realize ludwick is an everyday player…against lefties and righties

batting the stopgap rookie reliever in front of him.

Not that I’m questioning The Genius or anything. The Genius is not to be questioned.

But certainly amazing, nonetheless…

I’m a little irked by the Cards’ power outage in general. Izzy, Glaus and the other sore points with the ‘08 teams have not bothered me so much. But the lack of pop in this lineup is admittedly starting to get to me.

Needless to say

I took the appropriate amount of comfort in that.

Let’s just try to forget today ever happened. Here’s to a good showing in Milwaukee.

This only cost a half-game

With the Cubs facing the D-bags this weekend, a good series in Milwaukee could put some serious distance between us and the rest of the Central.

by Andyfantastic on May 8, 2008 5:58 PM EDT reply actions

The night cap will tell us how much it cost us

could cost us a full game to the hard charging Astros and the Brewers who we’ve got up next.
