by coachnick39 on May 5, 2008 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions

I prefer realistic.

I don’t want positive spin leading to a 10er start for him in the majors. We cannot afford to bring up a pitcher thats not an improvement over what we already haver here.

Arguably he’s not even better than Garcia, Parisi, or Walters would be. Heck, those three can at least get through a AAA start giving up fewer runs than IP.

I'm happy with those results

No thrilled, but happy. We need to remember that this man has only pitched about a half-dozen games in the last 2 years. (I know this is a bit off, but i don’t feel like looking up specifics.)

I don’t expect a TON from him, but it’s early, and this is still his spring training, or something. I’m glad he’s working through his problems, and learning to adjust. I’m also glad that he’s got 30 days to do it in the minor leagues. He’s not hurting anyone by taking his lumps against a AAA team.

a) Check his ERA before his last start in AAA, eh?

He's making his major league debut

It’s probably the most exciting night of his life (or close), and a chance for me to see a guy in the system I’ve never seen before. I think it is something to be excited for.

Lighten up, dude.

New Guy

Hey, long time reader, first time poster. I’m moving to a new city every few months but I keep a St. Louis billing address. MLB TV blacks out most of the games because of that address. Anybody know any tricks to set up an out of town account without making me change my credit card info? I’m getting sick of watching gameday.

by BirdlessinSeattle on May 5, 2008 10:49 PM EDT reply actions

I thought

the blackouts were based on the location of your ISP? I was able to watch cards games when I was in tampa even though my billing address was st. louis.

That's how you have to hit against a guy like Fuentes

Just a very compact swing… don’t swing as much as just make contact with the ball.. hit it where it’s pitched

Rockies tried to pick Albert off

he hurt his back diving back into 2nd.
On the next pitch, he stole 3rd just as the ball was released.
Ankiel grounded that pitch out to 2nd base and Pujols never stopped running and slid in just ahead of the tag.
