How the heck

did Kennedy not slide under that tag?

Kennedy’s quite the slugger here today.

Damn Kennedy

Run Faster!!

The only one who liked the Cardinals so much he became a St. Louis Cardinals football fan.

wow

Kennedy is hungry

Ankiel is Jesus!

by Cards Fan in Chitown on May 5, 2008 10:03 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Holy crap

That should count as a HR for Kennedy regardless. How often does he hit the ball over the OF’s head?

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:04 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Albert, wtf

Man he just doesn’t look right lately.

by StLHugo on May 5, 2008 10:04 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Not really

yes he scored the runner, but you know albert wanted to do more then ground out.

by StLHugo on May 5, 2008 10:05 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

his goal that at bat was to go the other way and score the runner

obviously he’d prefer a hit, but he made solid contact and did his job, it was a good at bat

boo cubs, hooray beer

Situational hitting

RBI groundout to 2B. Textbook. That’s exactly what he wanted .

lol

now hes even making our AAA team worse ;-)

Lets Be Positive

at least that is what I think Hardcore is trying to tell us about the Mulder start

The only one who liked the Cardinals so much he became a St. Louis Cardinals football fan.

by coachnick39 on May 5, 2008 10:08 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

He got a ton of groundballs

they just weren’t converted

by liam on May 5, 2008 10:09 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I prefer realistic.

I don’t want positive spin leading to a 10er start for him in the majors. We cannot afford to bring up a pitcher thats not an improvement over what we already haver here.

Arguably he’s not even better than Garcia, Parisi, or Walters would be. Heck, those three can at least get through a AAA start giving up fewer runs than IP.

by DriverZn on May 5, 2008 10:10 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

no love

for Mitch Boggs? He’s had some pretty good outings.

by liam on May 5, 2008 10:11 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Yeah because Pineiro was stellar tonight

Looper was amazing during HIS spring training
And Lohse hasn’t given up 13 runs in his last 16 innings.

after the 2nd inning.

I'm happy with those results

No thrilled, but happy. We need to remember that this man has only pitched about a half-dozen games in the last 2 years. (I know this is a bit off, but i don’t feel like looking up specifics.)

I don’t expect a TON from him, but it’s early, and this is still his spring training, or something. I’m glad he’s working through his problems, and learning to adjust. I’m also glad that he’s got 30 days to do it in the minor leagues. He’s not hurting anyone by taking his lumps against a AAA team.

I am shocked by Ankiel's plate patience this year

What a pleasant surprise that has been. I expected a sub-.300 OBP.

FSN Midwest

should put him on the air for a few innings.

FSN

That actually is a really good idea.

Kennedy is hitting .342

Hell hath frozen over.

This is ridiculous

Game’s been on for an hour and half already. Slow-moving game.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:09 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

his ERA is 4.41

He’s not a big league pitcher, get over it.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:12 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Huh

a) Check his ERA before his last start in AAA, eh?
b) I’m just excited for the guy, I’m not saying we should slot him as the damn closer or anything.
c) Stop being a douche.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:14 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I'm just saying he's just injury protection

and he’s a guy we can send down again, nothing to get excited over.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:15 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

He's making his major league debut

It’s probably the most exciting night of his life (or close), and a chance for me to see a guy in the system I’ve never seen before. I think it is something to be excited for.

Lighten up, dude.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:16 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I would like to see the cardinals win this game though

I’ve seen Parisi and sure he’s capable but we’ve got better options.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:18 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Oh, I see

So you can only be excited about it if the game isn’t close. I hadn’t gotten that memo. Thanks.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Why would I omit a bad start from his stats.

If anything it’s more indicative of how he is going right now.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:16 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

That start was against

a 25-5 team. Pretty good competition, maybe better than some of the offenses we’ll play this year.

by liam on May 5, 2008 10:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

The Angels AAA team

Is full of a lot of EXTREMELY promising major-league ready talent. Brandon Wood, Kendry Morales, Reggie Willits, Matthew Brown.

Not scrubs. Good players.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:27 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

On Mar. 29th

the Cardinals were beaten 10-3 by a AA team. Talented minor league teams can make anybody look bad on any given day.

by liam on May 5, 2008 10:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Time for me to eat crow?

It’s not like I don’t want him to succeed.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

You're impossible

You’re right. Parisi’s a chump because he got lit up by a team that’s 20 games over .500 and off to the best start in the history of the PCL.

Whatever.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:33 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

"Not a major league pitcher"

Substitute it in for chump if you’d like.

I’m mostly peeved that you think his debut is not worth being excited about.

by mojowo11 on May 5, 2008 10:35 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

You can be damn good at baseball

And not be a major league pitcher, it’s a tough league obv.

I just thought he wasn’t the best option to put into in a close game.

MAYBE, i was wrong.

by TheBirds on May 5, 2008 10:36 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

i am glad you said that

Mike looks like he has some nasty stuff

I'm looking a little less dumb

But I’d like to look like a complete idiot right now.

That team

Is off to the best start in the history of the league. That’s why.

tthats what i dont get

I dont know anything about him, but what ive seen it makes it look like he shouldnt be the first up

by jealousblues on May 5, 2008 10:14 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

They called the AAA coaches

asked who was the ready for the call-up,

they said Mike Parisi.

by liam on May 5, 2008 10:15 PM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

yeah

it isn’t like they just pulled a name out of a hat. I can not understand the crap being piled on the guy before he throws his first pitch
