(Poll) Who do you want the Cardinals to draft w/ the 13th pick?

There's been a ton of talk (obviously) about who the Cardinals should take next week.  I think we need a poll just to get everyone's opinion on who the 13th overall pick of the draft should be.  The players I mentioned in the poll are the ones that have been talked about the most on VEB.  Feel free to write-in a different player if you deem it needed.  Almost all of these guys should be available by the #13 pick.  Friedrich might go 11th or 12th overall, but I think everyone else will be available.

Here's a quick breakdown:

Jake Odorizzi: Local RHP who has a very good fastball, clean mechanics.  Chance he's still around at the 37th pick.

Tim Melville: Local RHP with a very good fastball.  Needs to work on developing his secondary offerings.  Has the potential to be a dominant power pitcher.

Shooter Hunt: More of a power pitcher than Friedrich.  Right-hander features a low-90s FB with a strong curve.  Struggles with command at times.

Christian Friedrich: Strong left-hander with an average fastball, but a great 12-6 curveball.  Has average command.

Brett Lawrie: Raw RH catcher who's bat is much farther ahead of his defensive skills.  He has flown up the draft charts in the last couple of weeks.

Aaron Hicks: Left-handed, athletic outfielder with good speed and the ability to hit for power.  He has the potential to be a 5-tool player, but he's a long ways away from cracking the majors.

A better question would be...

what percentage of visitors to this website could possibly have an informed opinion as to which of these players is more likely to become a all-star. I certainly would not fall in that category.

Just to play along, I’ll take Shooter for his name.

true, to an extent

i think these poll results should be interpreted more for what they reveal about the TYPE of draft pick voters here prefer – so, in other words, you’d presume each player has an equal chance of future success. for example, not one vote so far has gone to either position player, and the votes are split between the hs pitchers and the college pitchers.

Agreed...

Most readers are probably taking into account the level of play they are currently at (HS vs. college), as well as their pitching style, because we don’t want another Anthony Reyes situation where we have a good prospect who can’t succeed because their pitching style conflicts with Duncan’s philosophy. Truth be told though, by the time these prospects make their way up to the bigs, Duncan may not even be around

True dat.

I admit it. I’m an ignorant boob when it comes to baseball draft picks. I’m always intrigued to read the info that some of you guys collect, but I’m not even going to pretend to vote here.

I would like to piggy-back on redbirds8233’s comment below. I don’t think Duncan will still be around the team by the time any of these draft picks start to get close, but would you even bother with a “power” starting pitching prospect. Those guys nearly always throw up in the zone, and they typically make a living popping guys up when they aren’t striking them out. That type of player is a waste if Duncan is your pitching coach. He doesn’t believe in that style of pitching at the major league level, so how do you think that should be figured into the decision?

Tim Melville

Had to vote Melville because I went to Holt back in the day, and we haven’t had someone make it to profession sports since Dan Alexander (who is now out of the NFL and playing Arena football btw).

I don't know much about this but

I would like us to take Zach Collier. He is a High risk High reward pick. And how much our farm as grown and improved we can aford to take the risk. His up side is as high or higher then almost anyone in this draft and he has been compared to Jay Bruce.
