Forgot who we were playing, just remember calling it 10-run Friday

Brian Deon Barton

Fangraphs has BB’s middle name as Deon. Can we start calling him “Neon” now? How about just Ne?

Deion Sanders got the nickname Neon Deion while playing at Florida State.

There have been a few nicknames thrown about for BB round these parts like:

Crabman
Rocketman
Cardinaut (I came up with this during a game last week sometime)

I prefer baseball snob

It’s kind of a term I came up with. Here in the south, football (particularly college football) is king, especially among my generation (age 24). Not very many people like baseball that I know, so I think of my baseball like it’s a fine wine that many people don’t appreciate.

They showed me on the jumbotron at the Cubs-Cards game a few weeks ago

I had an overwhelming urge to flip off the camera cause nothing would be more satisfying than flipping off 4700 people. I kindly refrained.

go cards.

In Memphis, I believe

So at least there was no one there to see it.

Dig it

when they show elderly ladies knitting in the stands on the broadcast.

Only thing I like more are the nuns praying their rosaries during the playoffs.

On Friday

Pujols sacrificed his streak to the baseball gods for the good of the team.

Yea, and the gods were pleased.

Nice Game

for me -

MVP – bullpen – 3 innings, no baserunners and nothing hard hit. It’s been a while since we’ve seen that, and needed it badly.

BAMF – El Hombre & Luddy – 6 for 9, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 1 2B

That was a nice win.

Night all, it is late here in the Eastern time zone. Yawn…....

How about Cy Welley?

Aside from one catastrophic start, the guy has been wonderful this year. I hope to see this kind of stuff from him into the dog days of summer. Great stuff tonight from the Birds.
