Wainwright pretty steady tonight

One mildly hairy inning, but he got out of it with minimal damage.

Now, if only TLR would stop overthinking everything.

The way things are going

Wainwright could go 7 innings and not get over 90 pitches.

God

That would be a HUGE relief…

Is playing the Cubs with a taxed bullpen for the rest of the weekend.

It makes perfect sense to me

but I must admit the strange wild mushroom I ate a few minutes ago may be messing with my reasoning ability, so I’m largely relying on the opinion of the large magical blue goat-man sitting next to me. He’s a huuuuge LaRussa fan.

I just can't believe the marginal gains

of a lefty vs. righty matchup that TLR got outwiegh the possibility of having Skip available for a high leverage L/R matchup late in the game.

TLR just needs to learn to sit on his GD hands sometimes.

I thought Barton was this smart guy who could adjust and improve throughout the game?

Given how competitive our games against the Cubs always are, I’m fearing extra inning already.

Rick Ankiel

Home – .349/.423/.635 in 72 PAs
Away – .189/.286/.324 in 42 PAs

With any other player I’d dismiss this as random variation. With Rick, I’m not so sure.

Tony really doesn't hide his thinking.

Or preferences. I really think the little league decoy was La Rusa saving Troy from failure on a weak appearing at bat. Its obviously important to him to get the bridal on Troy without choking him. I personally believe that horse is already dead tony….....

I don’t think I can have contempt for JD Drew any longer. Getting rid of him brought us Wainer.

We have got to put some runs up against Lieber soon

Otherwise he’ll pitch most the rest of the game, negating the benefit of knocking Hill out in the 1st.

Waino

5IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB, 5K, 61 pitches. If he can keep this up all year he’s going to be a Cy Young candidate….

I don't think there is a LOB curse...

it just seems like that.

But they are hitting .279 with RISP, OPS of .795, .299 with Runners On, .821 OPS and overall, .279 with an OPS of .788

Pretty consistent, really. Even their RISP with 2 outs is .265 with an OPS of .774

It’s just with the OBP of the team so high, you get a lot of LOB.

Start Ludwick vs righties (maybe this will work)
