Game 47 overflow
wellemeyer only has 3 swinging strikes so far in this game --- 2 of which were by the pitcher, ledezma. i don't think 3 runs are gonna be enough tonight . . . . . we head to the 4th.

It's ridiculous that every other OF already has

Means the ball cleared the fence by at least 20 vertical feet AND landed at least 50 feet past the fence. These are the really deep blasts.

Time for a triple for AP, the cycle woudl be nice, he has the two easiest parts
40th anniversary of Gibson's 1.12 ERA, Think he could pitch in the bullpen now?
It's still stupid to steal with Pu batting
But I’m glad BB got a hit, and a SB

and albert looked ticked
not at the steal but the lack of him producing, i also think the hit and run with AP is Gay
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2

Isn't it nice when the heart of the order is actually beating?
It makes the inning different, instead of just pujol’s AB
Curse you Endy!!!!!
Can Ludwick get the triple
to complete the cycle?

more steals lately?
What’s with all the steals today? I’m in China on biz-nass so i’ve been out of it. Has this been happening more often of late?
no
just a matchup scenario.
We did it a lot against Kendall too, with less success than we’re having tonight. Numbers support aggressive baserunning in San Diego

that's about the third time I've seen him limp on his leg
as he tries to turn on a pitch. I hope he isn’t hurt.

Ludwick was a freak in the minors just before he got called up to the Cards
Then he kept getting better and better last year, and now he’s firing on all cylinders.
3-4-5 so far tonight
Combined:
7-10 with 2 BBs, 2 HRs, and a double
I could get used to that

His line drive rate is ridiculous
But it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. 2 tonight, plus the homer.

Well, I'm going to bed,
This madre pitching is just what the Dr. ordered for these Cardinals

we could have worse guys
as a 5th OF. But his bat #s being so large compared to Barton has no reasoning. “VS every RHP” shouldn’t be automatic

disagree
duncan has the ability to have more power than anyone on the team, with the possible exception of pujols (dunc’s HR/FB ratio was higher than alberts in 2006). If there is a chance of him putting it back together again, he needs to be given the shot.
I like Barton, and he has much, much more potential than schumaker. I think there is an obvious solution to this dilimna that does not involve sitting duncan on the bench.
And I awoke in California, far far from Spancilhill...
It isn't so much that he is terrible
it is that they force him to play the OF with his hand on the wall.

dont forget the obligitory
dumb look on his face looking at the ground shaking his head with his hands on his hpis after the play…..Think we’ve seen that enough this year
Ha
Gamecast showed that ball as exactly in the middle of the zone

Would have never guessed he’d be doing this well this deep into the season.
if he gives us that pitching line while struggling, I’ll rejoice everytime he pitches

i don’t care (personally) about him being lights out, I’m content with some innings ate and a low run result.

I don't know if he's gone longer
or if expectations are getting lower, but before long he’s going to be known as an “innings” guy.
Curse you Endy!!!!!
Not nearly as much as the runs
7 runs on 11 hits. It’s been rare this year that the first number has been more than half of the second.
