Then bring in Ludwick for a pinch hit solo homer in the 7th or 8th.

The sad thing about McClouth is that the Pirates

seem more than content on actually keeping the guy instead of turning his hot start into very good prospects. Their minor league system is awful and they need a full fledged rebuilding but won’t part with McClouth.

Homerun/Strikeout Ratio

Can someone with a subscription to baseball-reference do a search to find out how many hitters have a ratio greater than 1? Pujols came oh-so-close in 2006 (49HR, 51K).

I know Ted Williams did it four times, Johnny Mize once… (via fangraphs)

Edmonds and Crazy Z have history....

And Zambrano was not apparently happy with his new teammate. (All kinds of “no comments” when questioned by the media about Jimmy.) Perhaps Z will go crazy – again – and try and slug a teammate, this time, Edmonds. Jimmy would duck, Z would miss, hitting a brick wall, breaking his hand in several places. It could happen!
