according to fangraphs, pineiro throws fastballs only 53 percent of the time. all the other st louis pitchers are above 60 percent except wainwright, whose fastball pct is just 51.

The sad thing about McClouth is that the Pirates

seem more than content on actually keeping the guy instead of turning his hot start into very good prospects. Their minor league system is awful and they need a full fledged rebuilding but won’t part with McClouth.

Homerun/Strikeout Ratio

Can someone with a subscription to baseball-reference do a search to find out how many hitters have a ratio greater than 1? Pujols came oh-so-close in 2006 (49HR, 51K).

I know Ted Williams did it four times, Johnny Mize once… (via fangraphs)
