It’s like we stopped hitting after the comeback Saturday

We lost the underdog mentality

All of that fight we loved so much in April seems gone. Add to that the fact that when it comes to fundamentals, we’re playing some shotty ball as of late

Have not posted in a while but

I might need to move to St. Louis next spring

Chicago has highs in the 50’s to low 60’s for the next week and a half

Just don't head further down the southwest

I got back from Aussie a year and a half ago and have been near Springfield

since I’ve been back I’ve had two huge ice storms, about 6 sets of tornados, a couple of floods

I’d take that weather anyday;)

at least there's no natural disasters in chitown

but the winter’s are truly horrifying. and the summer’s are blazin. extremes in temp going on here.
my dad used to live near Lake Pomme de Terre in MO and narrowly missed a tornado or two

that a suspension to Molina means even more face time for LaRue? Is their anyone else we have that can catch?

I wonder if

it’s time for Duncan to go back down to Memphis and learn to hit again? And to play outfield.

Could that happen?

I firmly believe

we need an injection of some Memphis lovin’. Pitching, Dunc, whichever. We shouldn’t wait to call ups to bring some of these guys up IMO

how geigh is it

that the Devil Rays changed their name to the Rays? Almost as bad as that whole California to Anaheim to LA Angels thing

good for them. They have an exciting club this year.

yeah

it did seem to help. it’d be funny if they changed it to Stingrays and played Sting at every game. Though I guess now they could play Ray Charles

No

it’s worse because the Angels are the Angels are the Angels.

yeah

but the Angels are not in L.A.

Ankiel is Jesus!

by Cards Fan in Chitown on May 12, 2008 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm just saying

that they changed location name, not team name. It would be like the Cardinals shortening their actual name to Cards.

by spants on May 12, 2008 10:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I dunno

I think it’s a little worse to fake the location of your team. team’s change their names fairly often. but Devil Rays sounded a helluva lot cooler

Ankiel is Jesus!

by Cards Fan in Chitown on May 12, 2008 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Has their hat changed because of the locale name change?

What about the uni’s? Nope and nope.

The Rays have a whole new look to go along with their shortened name. No new owners. No new stadium. No new location. Just a new name.

by spants on May 12, 2008 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah

it is pretty geigh. although our opinions are slightly different (just hate it that they changed their name to LA Angels purely for marketing purposes, it’s cheating). I hope the cardinals whoop their arse for the name change.

Just realized that I don't know

who’s in the driver’s seat when TLR gets booted?

by Andyfantastic on May 12, 2008 10:32 PM EDT reply actions

I'd like to see Albert

So he can lose his streak in a meaningless game and when asked about it. TLR can say. I didn’t know about any streak.

by Harknights on May 12, 2008 10:32 PM EDT reply actions

Now, that's funny.

Just the sort of thing TLR might do to keep our best baserunner humble.

by Cards Fan in Chitown on May 12, 2008 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions

If the defense allows a bsaerunner to advance

without contesting it, it is ruled as defensive indifference and the runner get no credit for a stolen base. It’s a change from the old days when the only way guys like Carl Sawatski could get a SB was when the team was down 6 in the 9th.
