Want Condensed Games from MLB.com?
Thanks to folks at VEB, I found mlb.com TV and Consensed Games a few years back. Watch a game--every pitch that led to a hit/BB or an out--in 20 minutes; add about 2 hours to your life every day you didn't want to watch the whole game. That's what made mlb.com so great--and worth the price. Now their product is more expensive and offers nothing like Condensed Games. Yet they claim they're offering their customers more this year than ever.
BS. (That can stand for at least two things.....one of them is Bud Selig)
So......... sometimes all the powerless consumer can do is flood an inbox with complaints. If you're game, go here: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/help/contact_us.jsp
and write (copy and paste) the following (or something even better):
You claim mlb.com offers more this year than ever. But this year condensed games, extended hightlights and the half-inning-at-a-time option are ALL gone--AND your price is higher. And of course you don't answer fan feedback, though your "contacts" page and your telephone agents vow to promptly reply. What exactly has improved at mlb.com? If there are to be no changes (bringing back the Condensed Game feature) what compensation will you offer your faithful and deceived customers?

I'm game.
I've never really used the condensed games, but what I have used was the archived games so I could see some situation or play that I had heard about. But I can't even find those!!
They used to have a "video" link next to each game on the scoreboard on the front page. Gone. So I go to "wrap" where there's a header that says "archive". Sweet!!
Uh....no. It's gameday and nothing else.

I just clicked on "multimedia" and found the archive there.

Good idea.
Even last year they started diluting the value of condensed games. When I first started watching them, you would get the end of literally every AB of the game, even the walks, K's, HBPs, etc., no matter how unrelated to the scoring. Then I noticed last year that they started editing out certain ABs. Sometimes you'd see only one AB for a whole half-inning. Bastards.

condensed games in Colorado
Speaking of condensed games, work took me to Denver last week where I discovered they actually broadcast condensed games on TV that evening. I got back to my hotel room and got to watch all the action from Cards Rockies game 2. Do they do that anywhere else? Seems like a great idea - why don't we do that in St. Louis?

mlb
it irks the crap out of me that mlb controls the distribution of mlb games. as noted recently, i live in northern florida and cardinal games are blacked out here on extra innings, despite the mlb web site listing only marlins and rays as blackouts. this certainly does he cardinals no good and cost mlb money, because without card games, i won't subscribe. in addition, you are correct about the lack of response, in this case from mlb as well as their agent, in-demand. as far as i am concerned, i agree with my close personal friend and well-known greek philosopher thesaurus, bs = bud selig (and in some circles bull s... as well)!!!
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you haven't grasped the situation!
