Game 27 overflow thread

nice at-bat by izturis there; way to go, c. still a ballgame, but that wasted rally in the bottom of the 3rd really smarts. good to see ankiel break out of it.

cards trail 4-3 and still batting in the bottom of the 6th.

How many more times will it happen

I’d say we saw the first and last time tonight

Guessing just this once

In fact, I’m fairly skeptical that they’ve even both hit in the same inning before. Let alone extra bases.

Ludwick has no clue tonight

I gotta question TLR on putting Ludwick in as a leadoff hitter

The guy takes no walks and strikes out a ton, and he’s facing a pitcher that eats free swingers alive.

Yes he should

however, Duncan-Ludwick-Ankiel shouldn’t exist as an OF.

The article that said suggested a Duncan, Ankiel, Ludwick lineup...

Isn’t looking good so far. Like I said, I have no interest in seeing the cardinals lead the league in K’s.

People say K’s don’t matter, but I see very little strikeout hitters hitting for good average.

AVG is irrelevant. OBP is the money melon.

Also irrelevant: One game sample sizes.

Well who the hell can see forever?

by Alxfritz on Apr 29, 2008 1:28 AM EDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

"takes no walks"???

Ludwick’s walk rate this year: 12.7%
Schumaker: 13.3%

The difference is basically insignificant.

(You can find these things out for yourself with just a little bit of work, you know).
