I'm just confused on why were are using Thompson

here and not McClellan. Thompson vs Fielder is not something I want to see.

Jimmy steps in to lead off the bottom half of the inning... with nobody on base... It could happen... just not tonight.

Makes sense

We sent down an infielder to bring back a pitcher, so we need to reciprocate it

Depends on the situation.

But if he’s facing a lefty, you can expect a large dose of sliders in the dirt judging by his last at bat.

well, you have a pitcher

who historically walks almost 4 hitters per 9 IP, and a guy up to bat who has a tremendous batting eye. So you pinch hit with a guy who strikes out a lot and swings at bad pitches.

This was just a stupid move on so many levels…

And I awoke in California, far far from Spancilhill...

Isn't this a Riske move...

to pitch to Albert here?

by tinstl on Apr 22, 2008 3:07 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

No

the best time to pitch to Albert is when people are on base. He expands the zone quite a bit.

TLR's use of Barton and Ludwick

is just horrible. There is no arguement for it. Barton and Ludwick are both hitting righties better then lefties but only face lefties. So much so that you burn pinch hitters to avoid having them face righties. TERRIBLE!!!

Ted Lilly throwing a No-hitter

through 3 innings vs Mets.

A no-hitter you say?

I wonder if he’ll throw a no-hitter today. It would be exciting for Cubs fans if Lilly completed his no-hitter. I would be impressed to see a no-hitter thrown by Ted Lilly today. No-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter.

No-hitter.

He’s pitching a 2 hit shutout. No runs. 0 ER. No runs and the game is tied.

Hmm...

I hope Ted Lilly pitches a shutout. He and Cubs fans deserve to see a shutout today and in no way lose the game by Lilly surrendering a crooked number. Let’s go shutout!
