Game 20 Open Thread: April 21, 2008

St. Louis @ Milwaukee

Wainwright Villanueva
2-1, 2.78 1-2, 6.19

through three starts this year, wainwright has gone to 3-ball counts on only 12 batters --- half of them in the last 3 innings of his most recent start vs these same brewers. he threw 115 pitches in that game, a figure he's topped only twice in his career.

Our best lineup today!

With Wainwright batting 8th!

Disagree

With the players TLR has in the starting lineup, Waino should be batting 6th, maybe even 5th.

I think if he ever completely loses his command, we could probably convert him into an outfielder, what do you think?

by Molina4MVP on Apr 21, 2008 8:15 PM EDT   0 recs

no I believe...

he was referring to the scouting report that skippy gave the booth on Villanueva.

oh, thanks

I was only half listening to him and thought he said “the scouting report on skip” or somethng…

by streamman on Apr 21, 2008 8:46 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

uh

I was still for the albert slide, but towles was in front of the plate and didn’t have the ball yet he was going to have the ball in a split second, but albert cleared him out before he got it in his hands. But that play was a little more different than pujols slide, both play were awesome though.

by from First to Third on Apr 21, 2008 8:48 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

you're right

different play, Al was making the move to ensure he was safe and the catcher didn’t have the play on him. while at the same time possibly allowing ludwick to advance from 2nd to 3rd. Heads up baseball the way it should be played if given the oppurtunity. imbo
