Best Baseball Sim Game?

Hey everyone.. I'm an avid videogame player.  I loved the MVP and Triple Play Baseball series and now I love MLB The Show.  However, now that I've gotten older I've started to get into baseball sims on the computer.  I played Baseball Mogul last year but never had the time to really get into it.

Any sim players out there?  If so.. what do you suggest?  I'm only familiar with OOTP and Baseball Mogul.  I like Mogul because all the players are in the game -- you don't have to download them or anything.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

baseball mogul

its the best one out there for me.
plus with the additions of mods from the baseball mogul forums, you can get up-to-date pictures, rosters and stadiums, etc.

highly recommend.

I've spent a ton of time on BB Mogul 2008

I wasn’t that impressed at first, because a lot of the features are buggy and it is so close to getting it right that it is frustrating. However, once you figure out the undocumented features- like how to convert relievers to starters- and tweak the league settings a bit to reduce the number of injuries and GIDP’s per game, it can be a lot of fun. It’s definitely worth the $20.

And I awoke in California, far far from Spancilhill...

kind of like you

I started on the genesis with World Series Baseball (94). Now im at MLB2k8 for 360 (miserable in my opinion), and Outside the Park…its a truly amazing game. It’s completely taken over from the console games, and I probably wont buy another one.
I do miss the MVP series though…it was the best

check out VEB on facebook...just search groups for Viva El Birdos

MVP was the best!

I miss it so much. Half of it was probably because I was younger and not so picky about realism. MLB The Show comes damn close to MVP. I had a 360 awhile back and MLB 2k7 was absolute garbage.

Does OOTP use real player names of fake generated ones?

I've been looking

And it seems like it must use generated names unless you use historical teams, but I haven’t played it. Do you have to download mods from fans, etc.?
