i'm sorry

i just can't. i don't think a good 2nd baseman would help either.

crazy thing on the videos I've seen is

the Giants fans are really cheering. They were psyched about Pujols hitting that homer. Sounds like a home game. The announcers sound dreadful.

by tom s. on Apr 12, 2008 12:42 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That's because

Giants' fans like homers and they don't care who hits 'em, even the opposition.

2 out runs

Anybody have any idea how many 2-out runs we scored this year? Seems like a lot....

by Woodwork on Apr 12, 2008 12:45 AM EDT   0 recs

keep em comin

I dont know of anything, other than an inning continuing error, that will deflate a team's morale faster than 2 out hits/scoring.

after franklin's first kinda shaky start we

started calling alcoholic drinks "franklins"

so a pseudo drinking game was made with him

if he gives up a fly ball to the warning track you take a sip

if he gets a one two 3 inning you finish your franklin

redbirddude kinda created the rules, its more of a running joke

Pujolsian decision

to sacrifice the out for the runs. Since Skippy has struggled on the bases tonight, he'd figure he'd give him alittle bit extra time.

The SF broadcast

we get to see "Orange" guy everyother inning.

What is it about those people? Do you guys ever sit in your seat? Your up walking around ALL THE TIME. These are the guys who start the wave.

Fans in the 'Lou

should be the last ones complaining about doing the wave. Just sayin'.

It's fine

so long as it's not in the late innings in a tight game.

Which, consequently, is where the wave makes frequent appearances at Busch.

Is he the strange fan who's at every game and who everyone knows about?

When I was a kid going to Albuquerque Dukes games (before the bolted and were replaced by the Isotopes - thank you, Simpsons), there was a guy who sat behind home plate and had a strange little stuffed animal he swung around on a little souvenir bat. He always got up and led the singing during the 7th inning stretch. I think he had cerebral palsy, although I had no idea what that was at the time. Seeing him was one of my favorite parts of going to the games.

by BTown Birds fan on Apr 12, 2008 1:06 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

old guys in coon skin caps

400lb bald guys in orange body paint from head to toe. with the letters SF in black on his face. carrying orange Hulk hands.

and that's just the last half inning on FSN Bay Area. they were scanning the crowd.

like i said, no offense meant towards anyone on here from the Bay. but wow.

Ha!

Thanks for the descriptions, gdm and Harknights. I had this notion of laid back fans, but I'm probably confusing SF with southern California. I should know better - I've spent some time in SF and seen some interesting folks....

I don't know why I'd really have much idea of any California team fans; I've never been to any games out there.

by BTown Birds fan on Apr 12, 2008 1:00 AM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Seagulls

They seem like fair weather fans. They don't even bother to show up before the 8th inning.

Jimmy steps in to lead off the bottom half of the inning... with nobody on base... It could happen... just not tonight.
