If they were teens they need to get more sleep because they looked like hell.
crazy thing on the videos I've seen is
the Giants fans are really cheering. They were psyched about Pujols hitting that homer. Sounds like a home game. The announcers sound dreadful.
That's because
Giants' fans like homers and they don't care who hits 'em, even the opposition.

Is he the strange fan who's at every game and who everyone knows about?
When I was a kid going to Albuquerque Dukes games (before the bolted and were replaced by the Isotopes - thank you, Simpsons), there was a guy who sat behind home plate and had a strange little stuffed animal he swung around on a little souvenir bat. He always got up and led the singing during the 7th inning stretch. I think he had cerebral palsy, although I had no idea what that was at the time. Seeing him was one of my favorite parts of going to the games.

I think SF's defense lost this game. Every play I've seen has involved some miscue.
Barton's single might have been an out w/ a better jump, Barton's "double" should have been an out. Skip benefitted from three errors.
Sure baserunning and pitching didn't help, but the defense from SF has been dreadful.

Good game gents
I like this aggressive, hard nose team. At my Wednesday Night Cigar Club meeting this past week, the question was raised: "2008 Cardinals: Why not?" and I'll be damned if everyone didn't buy into them. This is a hell of a fun team to watch.
Also, and I'm just throwing this out there, let us see if it sticks -- it's not worthy of a fan post; hell maybe it is, but I'm not about to think up a way to write about it and do the research -- but Ryan Ludwick is actually a southpaw -- that is, he throws lefty (kind of like Dunc who throws right handed, but bats lefty).
Anyhoo, I would like to see a historical(-esque) split of RH batter who throw lefty and see if Ludwicks wicked reverse splits might actually be common. Anyone got that kind of time to look it up or knows of a study already been done?
Well who the hell can see forever?
That's a really interesting question
Definitely worth a fan post, IMHO, if someone crunches the numbers. Needless to say, I don't have the slightest clue where to get that info or if someone already has.

Chien-Ming Wang
pitched a complete game two-hitter (1 run, on a JD Drew HR that apparently could have been caught), and he needed only 93 pitches. What is that, about 4 2/3 innings for Wellemeyer? (I know, he was a lot more efficient last start, and hopefully will be tomorrow too; but 93 pitches for nine innings...wow.)
by BTown Birds fan on Apr 12, 2008 1:39 AM EDT reply actions
IIRC
Mulder threw something around 98 pitches in his 10 inning shutout vs. the Astros (and Roger "The Juice" Clemens).
maybe something to look forward to?
"Them Cubbies can kiss my ass" -Dizzy Dean
I was at the Mulder game....
it was hands down the most dominant pitching performance I have ever seen in person. He got a standing ovation when he ended the 8th, another when he batted for himself in the 8th, came out for the 9th, ended the 9th, came out for the 10th and when he ended the 10th. I had goose bumps for the last three innings.

Let's hope that was the high water point for him. Okay, not really, I'm just kicking myself for trading Wang.
"Is this Heaven?"
"No, it;s Iowa."
"I could've sworn it was Heaven."
Mulder
will surprise a lot of people this year I think. Not playing through an injury, not rushing back from one, solid staff to give him extra time, no pressure. I wouldn't doubt at least Suppan like numbers at least. Possibly better post AS.
