Baseball Video Game: OOTP8

The recent post on MLB2k8 and EA's The Show got me wondering......  I am a big video baseball geek and have wasted many, many, many, many, many hours not just playing the actual games, but updating rosters, creating the most realistic players as possible, etc.

I am currently demo'ing the latest version of Out of the Park Baseball, the 08 version.

I have downloaded a 2007 MLB roster pack mod and have tried to make our Cardinals as realistic as possible. Curious if anyone else out there plays OOTP8 and has done the same?  I like the fact I can manage the entire St Louis organization, but noticed these roster "mods" (which are done by OOTP fans and are not actual OOTP releases) don't always do the best job when it comes to individual franchises. Don't get me wrong--these dudes put a ton of time into their efforts. But other than Rasmus and a few other prospects, they really don't offer much for our Cards.  But with the ability to create and edit players, I hope to eventually get "my" Cardinals dialed in as well as possible.

The roster mod I used is from Padresfan's OOTP mod site, I think the actual roster mod is by Cubbyfan.

I never "force" trades unless it has actually happened (Glaus/Rolen), but I was able to get Neshek from the Twins for J Encarnacion.  That helped to shore up my middle relievers.

I'm a big fan of Diamond Mind, myself...

however, they lost all credibility with me when they did not include Brian Barton in their 2008 Projection Disc, making it impossible for me to accurately project the coming season.

Nice to see some other baseball video game geeks on here!!
