Per Leach - Rosters Virtually Set
Barring anything extreme happening in the next four days, Kyle McClellan and Brian Barton will both be on the team on opening day. Juan Gonzales will not be on the team. Cliff Polittle and Chris Perez were reassigned to minor league camp this morning. Hugo Castellanos hasn't been reassigned yet, but will not make the team.
The only remaining questions are the final infield spot -- if Brendan Ryan is healthy enough it will go to him, otherwise D'Angelo Jiminez -- and the final bullpen spot which will go to either Kelvin Jiminez or Anthony Reyes.

Can someone
anyone explain Kelvin Jiminez to me. I don't get it. He doesn't have good numbers and everytime I've seen him I've been unimpressed.
That's what makes this Anthony Reyes thing so hard to take. He's being skipped for Jiminez?!?

I hadn't read
The comments in the main post today before I posted this, seems like this information is pretty well covered. If any of our good site moderators would like to delete this, feel free.

meh
it could be better, it could be worse.
reyes does not seem like one who would embrace a reliever spot.

Not sure
if it's been mentioned yet, but I know that some teams see a benefit with different "looks" coming out of the bullpen (ie a side arm guy). Before today, I was wondering if the Cards were going to go with one, like Castellanos.

Jimenez is a weird pitcher...
When he's bad, he's really really really bad. But he's not horrible, he's really good.
