Reyes Might Have Earned a Spot After All
After todays performance, Reyes just might have earned a spot on another rotation. With a lot of grumbling over the Mets possible interest and Anthony throwing 6 scoreless innings, it seems to me he can still live up to the potential with a scenery change. The only problem I can think of is are we really interested Pelfry?

I hope not...
it's in his best interest, and everyone, really, to go someplace else. Half the fans hate him here and are just waiting for him to falter. As is Tony and Duncan.

Trade Reyes Now!!!
Now is the perfect time to trade Reyes; while he looks like he's on an upswing and before his poor mechanics start to take their toll.
You can still blame last year's struggles on philosophical differences.

He IS Healthy
I think the club and Anthony would benefit from a trade, but not to just get rid of him. A decent trade could really change the outlook of this club after all the other changes. Tony and Duncan sure seem to be tired of dealing with him though.

A Pelfrey/Reyes swap seems appropriate
Similar guys in terms of performance, similar in a dire need of a change in scenery.
With no evidence to the contrary, Colby Rasmus is clutch

If he is a has been sinker baller
Sign Duncan up....
But seing how he is younger than Reyes and has a tendancy to strike people out and generate fly balls I am not sure what this would acomplish.

I'd rather they aimed for
a young middle infielder who is blocked at the major league level. Does anyone know if the Texas Rangers have such a commodity? The Cards already seem to have 11 #5 starters.

I know
that the Rangers have Joaquin Arias, a 24 year old SS with a ML Ready bat who is blocked by Michael Young. There have been thoughts of moving him to CF though. I think there would be a better chance of acquiring Young in a package deal, say maybe Chris Duncan and Reyes and some other minor league guys? I know it will be difficult to get a SS who hits .300 and drives in 100 runs, but he would be a perfect fit in the number 2 spot in STL. I don't see Texas trading either guy anytime soon since Arias has not played a minor league game due to a shoulder injury.
The Rangers also have a 20 year old SS they acquired from the Braves for Teixera.

Josh Barfield
The Indians are another team that might be a good fit. Barfield lost his job last year, but he was really good in 2006 as a rookie with the Padres. If the Tribe has given up on him, then maybe we can get him to play 2B instead of Kennedy/Miles (ugh). From what I remember, he's a good defender and has good wheels.
Personally, I think we got hosed on that call.

Good idea
He also has occasional power, but that could just be genetics.
