new sidebar color
In response to yesterday's community rejection of the maroon sidebar color, the development team has plugged in dark blue --- the same color in the Cards' road caps, in the official web site, etc etc. How do you feel about it?
Just so everybody knows, the regular Cardinal red is not an option --- we need a darker color so there's contrast between the background and the bright red in the sidebar headings.

Logo Colors
Larry-
I think that you might want to redo the logo's color to get the bleed from the background. It might take a couple tries. I would be recolor it for you.

What I'm seeing on my computer screen is a rather ugly shade of orange. Maybe it's a tech issue with my computer, maybe it's like how some people can't tell certain shades of blue and purple apart. I'd be interested in knowing if it was just me...
Regardless, why not use the shade of the Busch Stadium seats? http://www.archerseating.com/CollectibleStadiumSeats/BuschStadium/BuschSeatsPhoto.jpg

i personally think black would be better than the blue, because then it would match the viva el birdos' logo, but the blue is certainly much better than the maroon.

i agree
black would blend in pretty nicely with the viva el birdos logo and mesh well with the grey. if we can't have cardinal red or viva el birdos black then the blue is doable.

Um
where did my post go? That's the 3rd time over the last two days that one of my posts have disappeared.
Anyways, I said something about McDonalds with the yellow letters.

I took a look in our log files
I found a record of you previewing the McDonald's comment ("the red could be a tad deeper and I'd replace the yellow text with white. This isn't McDonald's") but I found no record of you actually posting the comment. Are you sure you posted it? You'll know you've successfully posted the comment when, after you've clicked the POST button, the form disappears, and you see the comment appear in the thread.
We haven't heard any other reports of disappearing comments, but let us know if you have this problem again.

Since you're one of THE dudes...
This is off-topic but I don't quite know who/how to message one of you folks individually, but I was curious if there's any word on when MinorLeagueBall.com will be making the change-over. I find the new format to be a 500% improvement. It's literally easier for me to read even, I don't know why, but it is. I can't wait for MinorLeagueBall and the Chiefs bog to make the switchover because them I'm good with all my blogs.

Sweet
Glad you're digging the changes. Minor League Ball is scheduled to switch over very soon.
As for getting in touch with us -- we all check the introductory FanPost regularly, so you can always post a comment there. And you can send problems to bugreport@sbnation.com.

I'm almost certain I posted it
but I could have just hit preview twice. It did show up with my signature and the 'yellow fading' box but just chalk it up to me being stupid, I guess.

Looks good enough that it also makes me think...
Is it heresy to suggest the VeB logo might look good with the black background swapped for this blue? I like the Sunday cap theme idea.

Test comment
The color is OK, part of the official team colors and all. The new thing seems awfully slow is the first thing I noticed besides the "unofficial blog" tag. Well the thing that bugs me about the KTRS feed is the incessant loud ads. Almost puts me off the whole thing. It is kinda weird as well to have all the local St. Lou stuff being advertised in a place like Kuala Lumpur. Don't these guys realize it is an international audience?

wow
it's like a bunch of old ladies picking out curtains in here. as long we continue to have the same dynamic insight and banter, who cares about the color? right?
lb, et al: nice job on the transition. although it took a while, it was worth the wait... tacky colors and all.
