VEB Day at the Ballpark, Ver 2.0
Now that single game ticket sales are only a handful of days away, now seems like an opportune time to rehash some details for the hoped VEB Meet and Greet. The game against the Tampa Bay Sans-Devil Rays on Saturday, May the 17th was the runaway winner for the event, meaning that if my calculations are correct, Wainwright will be facing Kazmir.*
What we need to decide now is decide what all to do for the event.

I think the easiest way to go about this is to buy tickets individually, and just meet up before and/or after the game at a designated bar/restaurant. Once we have a decent guestimate on how many people will be attending I'll call around to the watering holes around the stadium and see who would be able to accommodate the group the best.
If anyone has a problem with this, or would like to do something different, go to hell. Just kidding; drop off what ya got in the comments below and let me know. I'm all ears (figuratively, of course).
Also, if you plan on attending please let me know if you'll be by yourself or with your husband/wife/gf/bf/some random jerk, or whatever so I have a halfway decent head count.
Cool? Cool.
*I have no idea what I am talking about.

i think it would be kind of cool to
also...if someone needs somewhere to crash my crib is open. It's just me and me dad in a house in Fairview Heights, Il, about 15 minutes away from the stadium.

Some of the All-Inclusive....
Granted, I live a long way away and don't make it down that way enough to be able to go, but I have tickets for an all-inclusive area later in the summer, and they're awesome, and I would imagine it'd be pretty easy to get a group in there.
Last thought: If you actually had enough people likely to go, you could always contact fan relations and try to get something set up. I don't know what they'd be able/willing to arrange, but given VEB's reputation and the prospect of bringing 25+ fans into the park in a group might inspire them to arrange something for you guys.

Stub Hub already has tickets on there
I cannot promise I'll be there, but I'll try (funds and time permitting).
The good news is that my birthday is a mere five days before that, so maybe I can get some sort of sweet birthday game ticket/plane ticket combo present, either from my family or a general VEB "Send Mr Redbird to Busch III" fundraiser.......

Actually...
However, I'd be interested to see if anyone in the Atlanta Braves fans area* would be interested in doing this for a game at Turner from July 28-31 (M-Th). If I can do it, I'll set up a diary a la this one when the time is near. It's too bad it falls during the week, but I could definitely make it.
*Of course, the Braves fans area is anywhere from Memphis east to around Raleigh, and anywhere south of there. Yes, the Braves are starting to take over Memphis, even though it's a traditional Cardinals town and home of the AAA club...

4-H Day
If you want to buy a large number of tickets all together, you may be able to contact your local 4-H Organization and see if they are placing an order/would be willing to place an order for you. The tickets are $21 each and are generally kept in the group. The biggest downfall is that it is a lot of family and kids, and a lot of people who don't know enough about baseball to appreciate all aspects of the game.
