Question for Those Near Shenandoah, Iowa
Over at Royals Review I've celebrated Shenandoah's status as a proud member of the Royals Radio Network. However, it has been brought to my attention that KMA-FM in Shenandoah, is also a Cardinals affiliate (KMA-AM is listed for the Royals).
I was wondering if anyone knew if this holds up? My suspicion is that only a few Royals games ever get played over on AM, while the Cardinals are heard 162 times. Any inside info and reflections on the fanbase in southwestern Iowa would be appreciated.

not sure about KMA
I can only add a little- as Chicago-area Cardinals fan, I used to take the Cards’ list of radio affiliates in the car with me, but I found that many of the listed Iowa affiliates did not run all of the broadcasts, particularly during football season. My experiences are more in Eastern Iowa, as I recall.
I guess that’s why I’m an XM subscriber. Enjoyed your profile of Shenandoah!
KMA/KKBZ
I grew up close to Shenandoah, and still live somewhat in the area. You are correct that KMA 960 does broadcast the Royals, and they will air most of them unless some of their high school sports coverage trumps it. KKBZ 99.3 is the same way with the Cardinals. My only complaint is that I live about 50 miles north of Shenandoah right now and get crystal clear coverage on KMA 960, but KKBZ is sketchy for me. The only big league baseball we get decently is the Cubs and I’d rather stick newly sharpened pencils into both ears than listen to Ron Santo.
Yep, Shenandoah has a Cards affiliate. Listened on the way back to Omaha
after St Joe cuts out.
Cyclone- The Royals are on 590 out of Omaha. I can pick that up near St. Joe and all the way to Des Moines.
