Effect on 2006 Cardinals
According to the article, the 2006 team would have won 90 games with the balanced schedule and no interleague play. I forgot how poorly the Cards played against the other NL Central teams that season. The NL Central was terrible then with the Cubs having one of their worst seasons since 1981.

I'm not a big fan of interleague play......
but I am not sure I want a balanced schedule either……. As for the Cubs in 2006, they sort of made up for that in 2007 and 2008.
The article is interesting and I am glad someone read it, for he did a lot of research and work on it. It is something that could be explored more I think……. perhaps a tweaking of the scheduling could be done. Just some random thoughts I had…..

Get rid of the wild card, and I'm plently happy with the unbalanced schedule
it’s idiotic to have a wild card AND an unbalanced schedule. It’s so unfair to have wild card rivals having radically different strengths of schedule.
