now the "short" stories are annoying

Why couldn’t we have reviewed the rules, visited the ballpark, done the team histories … during the pre-game show.

I feel we’re owed a chalupa.

Geez, Scott

you have got to throw strikes. This is the bottom of the order in a stars-and-scrubs lineup. If you can’t get these guys out, you’re going to get killed by Rollins, Werth, Utley, and Burrell.

Howard will not see a righty

in a key situation in the 7th inning or later the entire series. The Rays have at least 3 lefties in their pen and if Manuel doesn’t get it through his cranium that he needs to split Utley and Howard in the batting order, Utley won’t see any righties in a key situation in the 7th inning or later the entire series either.

put Werth in there 2nd

Rollins, Werth, Utley, Burrell, Howard, Victorino

Howard is so bad against lefties, you could make a pretty defensible argument for moving him behind Victorino when Kazmir starts.

by chuckb on Oct 22, 2008 9:33 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i would rather put rollins lower in the order

lower OBP and he has more power and can make use of his speed and generate runs in front of the bottm of the order. According to Bill James it doesnt really matter either way though.

I just like Curtis

because you get the feeling that if he wanted to, he could totally nail every single girl he has on that show. It’s hilarious. It’s like the girls get pissed at their boyfriends/husbands when they come home.

Also, you always get that look on the guys face when they see Curtis. It’s like, “oh, fuck”. It’s like they can hear the countdown on the relationship ending clock has just started.

In Decatur, IL

there are only two Starbucks locations to choose from. Located right next to each other.

That's down

where Chippawae runs into Kingshighway, right? I think I know what two your talking about.

note to mvp voters

this is why you don’t even think about voting for a guy who hits 50 mistake pitches/year out of the park as a mvp.

I hope they run that whole AB

in a loop to the guys who voted for him. In a small dark room that smells of dugout floor.

i'd at least think about a guy

who hits 50 pitches a year out of the park. it isn’t the home run total thats working against him.

Lidge

will get Pujols-ed at some point in this series.

Doubt it

Seeing Lidge’s slider from the first time is damn near impossible.

a World Series that has the home field advantage given towards the American League by a run Lidge gave up in a loss.

On mushrooms and crack.

Why can’t we have TBS’s team and Fox’s network?

what a terrible PA

for Pena. He flopped 2 sliders right over the middle of the plate and he never even had 1 decent swing. Horrible.

Well

I say that because he was throwing it for a strike.

Besides,

they need to sit on the heater. these pathetic half swings are not working

Don’t you think they know that? Is there game plan to go up there and swing at sliders in the dirt?

No

I didn’t realize it was compared to Lost and X-Files. I thought you were just talking about two good shows on Fox (although I’ve never watched Lost).

Btw, House is by far my favorite show on television and one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
