When does this game start?

defy, cards, defy. hey logic --- you suck.

by effin fisk on Oct 15, 2008 6:01 PM EDT   0 recs

7:22 CT

according to FoxSports.

Is it fraud when Cubs ownership says "this year is our year?" Can somebody sue for that?

thanks

and sorry i’m so lazy today.

defy, cards, defy. hey logic --- you suck.

I know

I saw this thread and thought the game started early in hopes that it would be over for the debate. As it turns out, it’s going up against the debate.

by chuckb on Oct 15, 2008 6:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm interested in the debate tonight too

seeing as it’s the last one and the one a couple weeks ago was quite disappointing.

Both have the potential

to just become sparring matches…okay maybe not.

Between the two

I’ll say the debate has a better chance of opponents attacking each other. I think these two ball clubs have put that other stuff behind them and hopefully they just play baseball tonite

At least that would make the debate exciting to watch

I’d pick McCain in that fight. POW and all that.

Not wanting to turn this into a political forum

but Obama is probably stronger than alot of people give him credit for. He did play basketball in high school and was pretty good from what I’ve seen. But that’s all I’m gonna say, again don’t wanna make this a political blog

Ryan Howard: one of the most Statistically Outstanding players of all time

by RunninRedbird on Oct 15, 2008 6:46 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah

I probably shouldn’t have brought it up. The early thread and the debate just made me think it might be an early game. This is my fault. Shame on me!

Geez

What were you thinking!

JK lol, my bad too

I really don't think

there’ll be that many attacks tonight. Polling’s telling the candidates to stay away from too much negativity and they’ll be seated, practically right next to each other, at the same table as the moderator. It’s not really conducive to a lot of attacks. I’d say it’s more likely call tonight’s debate boring than exciting.

by chuckb on Oct 15, 2008 6:50 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

No prob

I know whatcha mean. I don’t know who decided on 7:22 though… Must have been on something at the time.

Effort to get

just one more promo/commercial in….

So, what’s the “over/under” on “Fringe” promos tonight?

If I'm Billingsley

I put one in Victorino’s hip on the first pitch. Not because of any malice but to get his own team and home crowd fired up.

Victorino wouldn't mind

getting hit. So long as it’s not near his head.

Victorino is the villian

Billingsley is taking heat for not sticking up for his teammates and for pitching like a bum in this series.

What better way to please the masses than give them red meat?

by The Ol Goaler on Oct 15, 2008 9:59 PM EDT   0 recs

This disaster of an inning aside, if you had your choice...

would you rather the ‘09 Cardinals have Furcal at SS and Lopez at 2B, or Izturis at SS and Hudson at 2B? I lean towards the latter if Hudson is healthy, essentially because I’m tired of the revolving door of ineptitude at 2nd base…

by LukeMP1186 on Oct 15, 2008 10:02 PM EDT   0 recs

If I had MY choice,

I’d see if Brian Barden could play 2B; I think the Cards would get out-bid for Furcal, and the O-Dog is a question mark in my mind due to age and injury…

"In this game, don't nobody know nuthin' about nuthin'." -- attributed to Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra

by The Ol Goaler on Oct 15, 2008 10:06 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If you're going to go with a guy who can't play defense...

you may as well stick with Lopez or Miles. At least they’ve proven they can hit big-league pitching, which Barden hasn’t yet done. You can’t go into next year expecting to compete with Barden and Izturis up the middle…

by LukeMP1186 on Oct 15, 2008 10:09 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Maybe not...

…but Barden played 2B and SS for the USA and the Memphis Redbirds this past season. From what little I’ve seen, he can handle either position defensively; I’m just not sold on the free-agent possibilities in the middle infield…
