1st spring training trip..

as of now i got tickets to 3 cards games from 3/11-3/13 and will probably go to the twins/fish game on 3/10 too. this will be my first time to jupiter so i was wonderin if anybody had some info on other places to go. plan on goin golfin and goin out at night..any and all suggestions will be appreciated. hopin to see some of our prospects for the first time...

Abacoa

There's a pretty nice golf course in Abacoa -- I'm not sure where you are used to playing but I thought this place was REALLY nice. (color GPS in the carts, etc.) I would highly recommend it. There's also a pretty cool trendy restaurant / bar in West Palm Beach called the Yard House -- some of the players hang out there.

Spring Training

This will be my third year of Spring Training, since I moved to South Florida in February '06. It's a great time.

I'm not much of a golfer, but there is a nice looking course right in Abacoa. If you need food and beer before or after the game there's a few bar and grill type places right outside of the stadium. I haven't really "gone out" at night in Jupiter, but there are some great night spots further south. If you're heading that way, I'd be happy to make some recommendations.

If you're into autographs, they're really easy to come by both inside the stadium before and after the game, and on the backfields in the morning.

My first trip too

Although I'll be going to Orlando to see the Birds play the Braves for a couple games. I am very excited. More excited to get out of Chicago's icy clutches for a few days.

my first one too ;)

I'm taking my dad, flying him in from STL and I'm flying in from LA. We're going the first week in march. The company he works for has a timeshare there so we're getting lodging for free ;)

I've heard that braves games sell out fast, because people live close enough to drive down for the day, so get tickets soon if you haven't already. Same for games at roger dean- I was online by 10 central time last Sunday and they were almost sold out already for the week I'm going.

braves in FL

Yeah, all we could get for the first game was lawn seats, but managed to get seats for the second. I wonder if all the people not filling up Turner Field are the same people filling up their ST facility. Hmm. Anyway, it'll be nice to perhaps see their young guys as well as Smoltz, Glavine, etc.
