I liked the article...
put the site in my baseball book mark. Now I have about 20 different sites. Once the season starts it's gonna take me 3 to 4 hours to get to bed after every game.

My 2 cents
Definitely sounds encouraging to me.
  1. Glaus seems to have a really good eye. 3rd fewest swings in the league last year? Nice. I'll take a disciplined .260 hitter smashing 25 HR  over a free-swinger any day.
  2. The balls on Rolen's chart are all over the place.
The article talks about the fact that Rolen's shoulder gotten better last year, but in fact it got worse. I feel like Glaus has a lot more upside at this point in his career.

I was (and still am) a huge Scott Rolen fan, but this move is enough to give me hope for the St. Louis Cardinals next year. Which sucks, because that will just lead to disappointment. I've always liked Glaus. He always seems to end up on my fantasy team, and produces when healthy.

I can't think of a good offseason signature.

Great link
Confirms what I've thought about Rolen, even when healthy he has a hole in his swing inside around his hands. Teams would try to pitch him there but if they didn't get it far enough in he would kill the ball.
From the Glaus graph seems they like to pitch him away, nice to see he has the eye to lay off.

PitchFX
Take the fx data with a grain of salt.  It's a work in progress.  My friend's husband charts fx data for  MLB.com during all Yankee and Met games.  He told me that they still don't have a uniform way to set all the cameras up in every stadium the way they'd ideally like.

That being said, the data does correlate with what most of us saw this year RE: Rolen's inability to hit inside fastballs.
