1/11 Offseason Chatter
According to FOX's Ken Rosenthal, Mike Cameron has signed with the Brewers, on a one year deal with an option for 2009. Financial terms have not yet been released.
Cameron will have to sit out the first 25 games if I'm not mistaken (though I could be) but it will allow the Brewers to move Bill Hall to third and Ryan Braun to left field. Taking frying pan hands Braun off of the hot corner should help their defense tremendously. Milwaukee might be really, really good next year.
Also, it sounds like Walt Jocketty signed on as an special adviser with the Reds.

Somebody posted this there............
"Now that Walt Jocketty is on board, I'm sure he and Krivsky can work together to hammer out the following trade.
The Vatican gets: Ryan Freel.
The Reds get: Papal vestements, secret religious texts, naming rights to Vatican City.
The naming rights will be the real sleeper in this trade. At first blush it seems like a throw-in. "Why would the Reds ever excercise the naming rights to Vatican City? What would they call the place?" The value will be uncovered when they sell the rights for a pot of money big enough to sign any four starters you want to name.
The big drawback is for the press, who will be stuck with the dateline "PHILLIP MORRIS CO. VATICAN CITY, Rome --" "

great move for the Reds
- all the knowledge in Walt's head
- all the contacts in his cell phone
- alot of insight on the Cardinals
- subtle positive pressure on Krivsky to perform with Walt loose in the bullpen
