Dream Weaver

We all know what Jeff Weaver did last year in the post season was amazing.  IF the cards make the post season this year who do you think will be there X-factor (if you think there will be a x-factor).  All kinds of options, from Slick Rick to the Kipper (although if you take him your on your own).

Pineiro or Mulder
Pineiro is right now our #3 and Mulder is the current x factor.  Either of those has the shot at doing what Weaver did last post season and surprising us with wins or great games when we need em.  I doubt Wells, Reyes, Maroth, Thompson, etc. are trusted with the ball.  If you just mean that player that gives us the last umpf to succeed it could be Ankiel easily.

Also I don't put it past this team to make the most improbable of things happen and run a 16th inning Game 7 WS and have to use Slick Rick as the winning pitcher, hey it could happen ;)

Ludwick
Certainly if we make it to the post-season, I'd expect Mulder was showing us something to get there.  Howver unless he is lights out (which I doubt he could be), I wouldn't call him an x-factor.  Similarly the kitty is out of the sack on Looper and Ankiel, so unless they became world-beaters, I don't think they'd be a surprise.  I think the guy we need to get hot and stay hot, particularly against lefties is Ryan Ludwick.

I'd call Mulder X for unknown quantity
and if it's somewhere above "suck hard", it may be good enough to help us win.

Why not Reyes?
Heh.  He did it in the series last year!

He is in the bullpen......
they plan to use him only when they don't want to use their "regular relievers."  Translation:  he has been locked in Tony's doghouse, and they have thrown away the key.  Never will you see him in St. Louis, unless he stops by with his new team.....

It was either in Bernie's pressbox or
Bernie's extra points.  I guess the socks make him just too different or something......I know  most of you think Reyes is just shit, but man, they could write a book, LaDuncetty, "Everything You Need to Know if You Don't Want Your Top Pitching Prospect to Succeed"  He actually was seen to have top of the rotation potential by folks not with this organization-and they couldn't resist trying to make him throw a sinker and change everything that made him special.  Do the honorable thing and trade him-way back when he was in AA and you knew the kind of pitcher he was.  I rant about this all the time;  sorry.  I go in peace.....

Ankiel
wore high socks when he was a pitcher and TLR loves him.  I'm sad Ank doesn't wear them now.

I think
it has more to do with performance than the high socks.  Not being aggressive in the zone and falling behind batter after batter, then getting whacked when you have to throw a strike is pretty good way to tick a manager/pitching coach off.
